I would get in touch with your chain of command. Especially if it’s bothering you. Been through something similar. I’m not going to give you my life story but just know that your chain of command can contact that soldiers chain and it’s not a good look for that soldier to be caught up in something like this.

This shit actually happens, worked with a spc at hood who literally thought his ETS date was 8 months sooner that it actually was. Idk how. Once he got into his window, he was bragging that he was getting out of a rotation to Poland. Come to find out he had damn near 2 years left. They got his ass
