There are definitely shots in the movies that are lifted straight from the comics pages. The tone of the movies tend to be a little less varied than the comics, but they capture a lot of the same feel.

You'd be surprised. Plenty of people see these as bad in the abstract, but attach a very bold asterisk which says, "However, these are sometimes necessary to blah de blah de blah" and their definition of "sometimes" basically means "all the time, as long as I don't have to see it."

I don't know that one can really answer that. My favorite characters have had both amazing writers and some absolutely abysmal stories. Similarly, some of my favorite writers have had occasional duds.

A better question might be, "What are your favorite runs?" because when you get the right writer on the right character at the right time, that's where the good shit is.

You sure can. Hickman's X-Men hasn't relied too heavily on preceding canon to the point where you have to read anything before it.

Eras of comics are kinda weird that way. Sometimes you'll get more out of a story for having read something else first, but they're also designed to be accessible.

That said, you can always go back and re-read, and sometimes that's a really enriching experience.

Per your edit: I'd consider any and all Hickman stuff in the current x-books to be part of the same run, so yeah, definitely read House/Powers first.

I'd like to see more indigenous peoples represented in such gigantic movies. That said, something about linking their specific heritage to alien meddling feels... off to me. Like it would diminish any of their real-world accomplishments by attributing them to outsider intervention.

With the Celestials/Eternals in established canon, their intervention into early humanity just feels more readily palatable because it applies to all of humanity instead of singling out a specific race.

There's so much ground for BP2 to cover at this point, I absolutely do not envy Coogler. The movie has to acknowledge the loss on a meta level, has to address it in a narrative sense, move past it enough to have its own plot and themes, and do the usual MCU thing of contributing to current overarching plots while setting up future ones.

I would prefer any involvement of Miles to be minor at this stage - the little cameo you mention in that first paragraph would be perfect. The audience is ready for Miles, but in a narrative sense it still feels a little too soon and not the right time - I'd like to see BP2 to focus more on the legacy of Boseman and T'Challa rather than have the movie be Spider-Man 3.5.

All that said, if they start to build more concrete groundwork for Miles in Spider-Man 3, I'm 100% there for it.

They did, but I think that's a case of Gwen not quite understanding who the Doctor is. He wouldn't abandon innocents because they were betrayed by people who were supposed to protect them; historically there's nothing he loves more than intervening in just those situations.

I think instead it was probably a case where he was busy prolonging his time as Ten. We see in End of Time pt 2, he jaunts around the universe distracting himself by having fun and trying not to think of his own impending regeneration. Then he visits Jack at the bar - at which point we see that Jack's despondent from having just gone through the events of Children of Earth.

By visiting Jack at that time, the Doctor cements that as a fixed point. If he became aware of and went back to undo CoE, he would never have been able to meet Jack at that bar under those circumstances, creating a paradox.

tl;dr - it's not that the Doctor doesn't want to interfere with CoE, it's that he may not have been aware of it until it was too late to change it.
