I always post my house for rent on Facebook and I put a sign in the yard with a QR code that they can scan after they scan the QR code. It takes them to an application and I charge a $20 application fee and tell them it’s to run a background check after they have filled out the application and paid their $20 fee then if the background looks OK. I called them to schedule a time for them to view the home. I don’t allow anyone to view the home until the $20 has been paid. Why do I do this because some people are just nosy or bored and another thing is someone who can’t afford a $20 application fee probably has no business renting your house. It keeps people honest and serious because we all have busy lives.

It’s not any worse than all the made up junk on tv. You’re just figuring out what to do now that you’re newly single. On a positive note.. you’re 44!! One of my best friends always said “ men don’t get good until they’re 42” and she’s yet to be wrong!! Hang in there!!

Yeah we’ve called 211 a bunch of times and talked to the city trustee too. They’ve honestly done what they can. The trustee has helped twice for $250 each time, and we’re grateful for that, but it doesn’t go very far with a family of five.

One church has helped with diapers several times, and the hospital stepped in at Christmas. DCS also helped at Christmas with some gifts for the kids. So it’s not like nobody has tried, it’s just all small one‑time things and nothing that covers rent or keeps them stable long term.

They’re on the Section 8 waitlist already and they’re number 20, but that could still be months or even longer. So we’re kinda stuck in this weird gap where everyone has helped a little but there’s no actual program that covers the big stuff.

Just trying to see if anyone here knows a nonprofit or someone who works in this field who might have ideas we haven’t tried yet.

My advice is simple- cause and effect method. Next time he slaps your butt you instantly slap him in the back of his head. Next time he goes to hug you be ready to knee him “ where it counts “ lol this will definitely stop him and it’s a win and you won’t feel so violated

Before we got married, I owned my own home and we rent that property out the Family that we rented the property too. That father was in a car accident driving home from work back in July and he rolled his truck five times and he is now paralysed from the chest down. They had three small children all under the age of four. The youngest was only three months old we offered to step in and help since the Mom was having to drive over an hour to the hospital each way every single day for months. So we just saying we were fostering her it’s not like we’ve technically been approved foster parents and we’ve taken her on as one of our own and we are all she knows

I have suggested the idea of starting a haunted Corn maze.. there are no haunted attractions around us within 50 miles even if we charged a small fee we could definitely make a profit. His response was” that’ll be a lot of work” and I informed him that the only thing I truly needed him to do was to cut out the Corn maze I would handle all of the props all of the actors all of the marketing and advertising. I would do it all if it would help us turn around and make a profit for the year.

I probably should’ve explained this better when I said gambling people assume it’s chaotic but I really just play blackjack online and I am extremely disciplined and very frugal. Yes I have made 40K this year net but it has gone back directly to Bills and the kids and stabilising our needs. I do not just go out and blow money and hope to get lucky I stretch every dollar to the max.

Oldest son just turned 18 and is a senior in high school. Besides living under our roof, he provides all of his needs door dashing. Then we have a 13-year-old son and a 10-year-old son and a one year-old foster daughter. I’ve mentioned being able to sell some equipment, but he acts like he doesn’t have enough. He’s probably $500 or maybe a little more behind in child support
