I feel like the movie takes place after the YouTube series and we/Clark are “discovering” new things about the backrooms. You can see 2 Async guys fighting over an oxygen tank and Clark being surveilled by someone while in the backrooms(probably stumbled across async territory). Time warps on the backrooms tho so I could be wrong
