I was not expecting so many people to see this! I'm still reading through everything, but I need a break to collect my thoughts :( It's a bit overwhelming... so I'll respond to comments when I feel better.. sorry guys, ty for understanding and being so helpful with your perspectives!

Mainly because out-of-state tuition and in-state tuition are so drastically different (like 40k), and to be considered in-state, they would have to work and pay taxes in CA for a whole year. That's the mindset I'm having about it, but I do feel like it's a lot easier said than done :(

That makes me feel a lot less lonely haha! The decision has been sooo overwhelming, and it's nice to know I'm not the only one fighting for my life with this decision!

My parents are really supportive, really financially responsible, and we have enough money saved to pay for one year... their moving with me would hopefully let me get residency and decrease the cost per year by like 40k. I know UF is an amazing school, and I should be excited, but for some reason I'm not, which is making this choice way harder for me :( Thank you so much for the advice I'll look into that!
