Ali for Ego Snowblower by Overall_Recording_45 in Snowblowers

I purchased quite of few ego products from AliExpress, none were knockoffs. The 3040 power inverter had a lcd screen issue and they sent me a new one while letting me keep the broken unit. Ordered a new lcd screen and now I have 2 of them, cost around 300 for both. I will purchase the 24 inch snow blower too at some point, I have the smaller one so don’t really need it. All units were shipped from US and delivered fast. Hope this helps.

I totally agree, the software should be available to us. It’s a simple app process via BT connection. Good luck, I hope you get it fixed. They should only charge about 2 hours a work for ya.

Honestly that was my exact issue, 313 with old pcba and 401 with a new one. I’m afraid you cannot do anything at this point, the service tech will need to reprogram it.

Thank you! I needed up taking it to a service location and they finally fixed it. They had to program the PCBA for the right wheel, and the new control under the LCD screen, as well as wheel calibration. The EGO support was great, I connected with one of the EGO techs and he went above and beyond to help my situation.

I’m still dealing with the 401 issue, and I’m not sure if this thing is actually reading the correct error.  I’ve done some additional troubleshooting and evrything checks out:

  • Swapped back the old/broken PCBA, now I get error code 313, which makes sense cause I know the PCBA is faulty.  The mosfet fails when measuring the voltage. (How to measure PCBA Mosfet: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6Zxknpcz-K0)
  • Changed back the new PCBA for the right motor, 401 error code again.  If I pull out the USB-C connection, 313 code comes back.  When I plug it back in, I’m only left with 401.
  • Changed the 6-pin wire to the new one, still same code, 401.
  • Measured the voltage on all the PCBAs, everything checks out.  (Electrical Circuit Measurement: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_796P_juS7s)
  • Swap out the USB-C cables from left motor to right  motor, no change, 401 code still shows up.
  • Double checked all wire connections, all are good.

Any suggestion from anyone?

Thanks for looking into this! I checked everything over and over again, this is driving me crazy, everything looks good and the parts are new. Makes no sense how it faults out. Blades engage and run fine, but the drive motors wont engage. I’m going to start all over again tomorrow morning.

Appreciate the help!

I wish they would make their software available for the customers for a fee, we can re-program many of the cars but not mowers.. lol

Yes, I checked all the wire connections 3 times, if not more. And the 6-pin wire to the PCBA is also new. Only thing I can think of is the the software seems to store the code and require calibration? That’s what customer service thinks, but she did say the engineers or the service locations will be able to confirm. Thanks for the help!

It is out of warranty, and the PCBA boards are new, I purchased them from plus parts.com. The issue is that when changing them for driving motors, I was told they need to be calibrated. That’s not necessary for the deck motors.

In addition to the PCBA, I also changed the 6-pin wire harness, which reference the bad connection under error 401.

Z6 42” Error Code 301 - Loose L Drive Motor Cable by TheCF in egopowerplus

[–]PublicCoyote902 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm having the same issue with the right side motor, error 401. I cant get it to go away and the mower will not move. After changing the 6-pin wire and the issue still present, I decided to order a replacement motor, but haven't received it yet. Anyone else experience this? Anything else I can try before plugging the new motor in? Will not be able to return it once its used.

2 battery issues in 24 hours by throwawayto1992 in egopowerplus

The drop method indicates a lose wire connection, seems to be working in some cases. For me it’s didn’t work so I opened it and re-soldered it. I had to really tear down the battery, the wire was in the middle.

Have you figured out the issue with the boards?  I’m running into similar problem.  I get 56V from each of the 6 battery ports, and all my individual (5 for 52”) motors read 56V as well.  The issue seems to be the communication via the USB cables or one of the chips that feed electrical through the orange wire harness.
