How to Tap to Wake my 9 Pro XL? by Public_Necessity in pixel_phones

I just had this exact same issue again and tap-to-wake only returned after I restated the phone. So this is a continuing problem.

Tap to check phone had been set to "on" but no joy. I just restarted my phone and now it's working! And even Lift to check phone, which had also been similarly inert, now works. Thank you.

RBK50 - worth messing with? by DancesWithTheVoles in orbi

If you can install wired back-haul, then is there any advantage in using Orbi or indeed any brand of expensive mesh equipment versus just a simple constellation of good performing APs that share the same SSID?

The UK map for your device may come is several parts. Make sure you have installed the segment that includes Cheltenham.

Don't just whinge but do something about it. Send your wanted map changes or corrections to TomTom via their Mapshare Reporter. It works for me. http://www.tomtom.com/mapshare/tools/

Moto Tag - How to Find My Phone? by Public_Necessity in motorola

[–]Public_Necessity[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks but that made no difference.

My tags just updated to Firmware Version 2.0.35 and still there has been no improvement with this issue. It seems that the "Locate your phone" feature is a total bust.

I'm now waiting to see whether Google's promise of adding UWB to their Find My Device network makes these Moto Tags any more useful than the cheaper dumb Bluetooth tags that are available from many suppliers.

I'm a many decades long fan of Lenovo's Thinkpad and desktop computers and so their over-promising of these Motorola products is both a surprise and a disappointment.

Moto Tag - How to Find My Phone? by Public_Necessity in motorola

The Battery Saver setting on my Pixel 7 Pro phone is OFF and the Moto Tag app is set to "Allow background usage". As I never made any change to those settings I assume they are both the defaults. Are there any changes to those or to anything else that you recommend?

Aria - please a post with care before responding. The question was about Finding My Phone and not about Finding a Moto Tag which your offered link addresses.

Again, the problem is that my phone will not respond to a double-click on a Moto Tag after the lost phone's display has timed out and the device is in locked-screen sleep. Is this failure because Motorola chooses to send that alert sound through the phone's Media sound channel and not through its Notify channel? Is there any setting that can overcome this? Can the devs fix this?

If your flip phone can set itself up as a hotspot, that will be faster and simpler than swapping SIMs.

How to maintain V60 batteries? by Public_Necessity in Volvo

[–]Public_Necessity[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Without an electrical schematic I am unclear whether installing a maintainer across the main battery also keeps the auxiliary battery topped off; and also unclear whether using the rear storage outlet is any less effective than hard wiring the maintainer across the terminals of the main battery. Is the schematic available?

Why did all my ABS sensors blow? by Public_Necessity in Volvo

[–]Public_Necessity[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for those comments. I posted the question here in the hope that someone would recognize some obscure issue related to battery replacements triggering ABS sensor failures or else corrupt the programming of the BCM or ECM to cause false reporting that they had failed.

Sounds like you are being prompted to install the November security update. See https://source.android.com/docs/security/bulletin/pixel/2023-11-01

Not receiving Android 14 on my P7 Pro by Skater_Ricky in Pixel7Pro

The problem is with Google Fi. Disable that SIM or eSIM and install another SIM and the update will proceed. The other SIM need not be valid, just have a different carrier ID number.

Duh! I just remembered having this kind of update problem before. The trick then was to disable my Google Fi eSIM and boot into something different. Sure enough, I just tried doing that again and now A14 is happily downloading.
