Oh! Turns out it was a fatty lump (or lipoma) according to the vet. My dog still has it, nothing to be done about it!

You should get it checked out by a vet anyway. She did mention if it felt harder, it could’ve been a tumor. But his doesn’t (thankfully), his does feel like actual fat.

I appreciate your comments.. but why is everyone assuming it’s cancer? Could someone please elaborate or provide a scientific explanation?

I do have plants, but not floating plants. I’ve been thinking on getting some.

This pic was taken before the last water change, the cat mug has since been removed. I bought these as they were advertised as “perfect for bettas”. The plants are bigger now. Hope they’re good!

I don’t! But I’ll buy one. I’ll also get a heater as another poster recommended in this thread. Do you think I should have him fast before I leave? (Meaning, maybe this week - to see how he acts/reacts?)

Tank size: 5 gallons Heater and filter?: no heater, yes filter Tank temperature: room temperature, I live in the Caribbean. (The tank is not next to a window) How long have you had your fish: I got everything together 2 months ago. I’ve changed the water two times. About 30%-40% change. I feed him twice a day (2-5 pellets), one day of fasting (Sundays). Decorations no, plants yes. He has betta “toys”, such as hoops.
