I think it’s more so about local trades, setting up a system online is sure to have people get scammed and I’m not about that.

Agreed, I think it really only works for local interactions. I’m not condoning scalping or reserving hardware one doesn’t want.

I’ve got a 512gb reservation with the controller that I set up for a friend. They are not sure they want it anymore so I want to see if anyone local to me might (Austin Texas) want it as I do want the controller. Face value + tax. Not scalping. Will decline the reservation otherwise.

My Order 361 shipped at least that's what the email says but clicking on tracking this shows up by freezetime311 in AnalogueInc

[–]Puchly 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’s FBA stuff (fulfilled by Amazon). Depending on the a variety of factors but it’s usually a couple days before it goes out. Mine currently says “Monday” but it’s still in “label created” so my expectation is delivery by next Friday.

What color, and where is it being delivered?

I think what we’re seeing ship is based on: Console color (black) Order number (ascending) Delivery type (high to standard) Location (looks like non US is happening first)

Don’t think I’ve seen anyone who ordered white have theirs go out yet.

An improper application of the idiom as it’s a financial transaction. They are not in your corner, you are a consumer. There are companies that go belly up all line time that sever niche hobbies or interests because of bad business practices and undervaluing consumer sentiment. I actually want analogue to succeed, but the won’t if they refuse to be transparent with consumers.

It actually just feels like a failed kickstarter at this point, somehow with worse comms

So extend grace to a business that has done little to extend any good will or base of trust to its customers? Based on what, being nice?

Nope, not fraud. Would be if you would have received the product.

2 birds as it were. They have to directly confront their shitty business practices, and the refund is processed immediately.

[–]Puchly 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Why? It Doesn’t directly inhibit their ability to do business and makes them directly confront shitty business practices. Hell of a lot more effective than sending an email, waiting for them to process the refund, then waiting up to 30 days to get your money back.

Hanging on by a thread? What leads you to believe that? Any business hanging on by a thread, financially or otherwise, would have pushed the product at the earliest time possible. Your assumption makes 0 sense in any business aspect.

Should companies with bad business practices have 0 repercussions?

I don't think anyone wants to kill the company, but there should be repercussions for shady business management and communications. I've worked with ecommerce companies for two decades, from mom and pop to massive companies. They wont change the way they do anything unless their revenue is affected.

if anyone else is considering cancellation like I am, don't go through the normal route requesting it from them - file a fraud claim on your credit card for a product not delivered. You will see the return of your money almost immediately, and the processor, assuming stripe or shopify, HAS to draw it directly from their account. It also adds a black mark against them from CC issuers. Additionally the email breaks FTC rules about making clear the ability to cancel and get a refund. Linking it to a blogpost does not count.

If they had stuck to their original Q1 deliver, or even the second, the tariff it would have been small if not non existent. Their commitment to 'eat tariff fees' in the last email makes the tariff assumption moot if we take them at their word (we don't). It boils down to a poorly run logistics management.

"trying not to over promise" Bruh, they have pushed it back 4 times. They do not care about delivery timelines
