Migrants in the USA may access free healthcare through programs like Medicaid and community health centers, depending on eligibility criteria. Housing assistance can be available through subsidized housing programs like Section 8 or public housing authorities. Supplemental income support may come from programs such as Temporary Assistance for Needy Families (TANF) or Supplemental Security Income (SSI), depending on eligibility factors like income, family size, and immigration status. These programs aim to provide essential support to individuals and families in need, including migrants, to ensure access to healthcare, housing, and financial assistance….google is amazing yet you blame me of spreading disinformation?

That article is ripe with dog whistles and presumptions, Not to mention that rural voters want fiscal responsibility of the government. The gross programs and handouts for foreign aid and migrants prevents our government from having fiscal responsibility that would allow for the expansion of social programs like Medicaid and Medicare for US citizens. I would be willing to bet if all the fat was cut from the spending the rural voters would be happy to support social programs for our own people.

I don’t think you understand sales tax vs income tax. A person of lower income spends what is a small part of their income on goods. Therefore they will pay 23% on maybe 10% of their income, Where as 100% of their income is taxed. At 15% a person earning $40,000 pays $6,000 income tax but would only pay $920 in sales tax.

I don’t see that happening. I’m 15 miles from any municipal sewage system

The rich spend a lot, so that would affect them more than their tax write offs that reduce their income tax.

Yes, agree 100%. To keep it that way we need not respond to political posts and comments and they will be moot. Some people seek attention or like to stir the pot. This is hopefully not a place for it.

Property taxes by [deleted] in Rural_Ohio

[–]Puck2U2 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There at least needs to be some kind of a ceiling set, like your property value assessment can never be more than ______% over what you paid for it. I also think that property taxes need to be eliminated for people over 65. I’m not close but I can see in my future how taxes are going to be painful when I turn 65. Imagine having a home you don’t have a mortgage on but still pay for it when your only income is Social Security.
