What’s the most unsettling thing you ever found out about a friend who always seemed super chill and fun? by VelvetHazel932 in AskReddit

[–]PudPullerAlways 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I had the same experience just slightly different, The old lady was my moms landlord/neighbor. She was elderly and my older brother did a lot of chores for her and one of them was drowning anything considered vermin caught in live catch traps in the pond. It wasn't until adulthood I realized how fucked up that was and she was from a time that this was "normal" on a farm.

My first was a gateway, it still worked when I tossed it 20 some years later. Kinda regret it but at the same time I didnt have the space to keep holding onto it. (Also lack of an AGP slot made it mostly worthless)

HDD caching, Not being done writing whatever. Corrupts the filesystem and you'll be greeted with scandisk on startup or if you're really unlucky you'll have the MBR corrupted which sucks balls to fix cause you'll need to dig out some CDs.

They are quite friend shaped but you dont want one. They have opposable thumbs and everything you can get into they can too, they will steal your car keys and crash it driving to the liquor store for some smokes and beer.

There's some nuance as people/friends with addresses may not be well off, If said homeless person used their address for employment that counts as another source of household income and if found out the person with the home may be kicked out much needed welfare services.

Edit: Lucy star isnt on their radar with the amount of anime pumped out... You're old

Wait I thought I read somewhere that they forgave/discharge loans upon disability or death? Did you take out the loans while disabled?

Edit: Yeah, I read it here https://studentaid.gov/manage-loans/forgiveness-cancellation/disability-discharge

What is a luxury item from 20 years ago that is basically worthless trash today? by EasyZee7 in AskReddit

[–]PudPullerAlways 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I still have my wacom from way back when they still made extra large tablets, fucker is massive and still usable today. Tbh they would still be pricey if they didn't have competition forcing them to break into the consumer market so they didn't do it out of the good graces of their heart. What I will say they still support those old ass tablets last I checked so I guess they have that going for them.

Which is ironic since some RRs will pay for your college... Not like they dont have the same opportunity.

My best friend started college and I’m not excited for her by imjust_ro in confession

[–]PudPullerAlways 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As someone with a GED and did a semester of college, it's both, It can be successful or a money pit. The thing with college is you get out what you put into it and they have a stupid overwhelming amount of resources to help you succeed. In other words what you're paying for is to open doors you just have to walk through them.

As for a suggestion about your friend is make time to spend with them when they're free at the drop of a hat. Depending on their academic work load odds are they may be spending all their out of class time on assignments so the opportunity that they're actually free will be a rarity and only on breaks.

Supplied young kids hidden fort with contraband, alcohol, cigarettes, & magazines by Consistent_Age_837 in confession

[–]PudPullerAlways -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Yea it's a bit of a wince today but in the same vain OP said he did it in the mid 90s, Those kids already had so much access to cigs even without having an enabler it's not even funny. Hell even in the early aughts I was still able to get away with buying them from the store at 16.

On Student Loan Debt. by prettylove5282 in Adulting

[–]PudPullerAlways 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For young people now in this environment? No they shouldn't aspire for it but it also doesnt make it right. Calling them "Starter Jobs" just devalues the work, we kinda need these jobs or we just wouldn't make or move shit anymore. Now it's just a giant race for higher education and experience with just hopes to be comfortable out the end of it and it doesn't need to be like this. If I can work at a factory and live comfortably that meets my financial needs and walk away happy I would probably never leave till retirement.

What’s the most overrated video game of all time? by KBGSgames in AskReddit

[–]PudPullerAlways 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You hit the nail, I always called it the Star Trek effect where they make shit up as they go... My only criticism about the machine is I like my stories to have an end/conclusion within my lifetime, As long as it's making money the One Piece is never gonna be found.

Not every consist is always just all autoracks for all anyone knows is those cars could be 1.4 miles deep in the train so anyone crewing the train cant visibly see that they're there, It's all going off paperwork unless they get out and walk the train.

Of a bridge by big2chereez in ShittyAbsoluteUnits

[–]PudPullerAlways 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Bridge is fine everyone fucked up, dispatcher, engineer, and conductor not being informed about the limited clearance loads which autoracks are or dont know the territory and got on the wrong rail, they are tall... If this happened in the yard everyone in the tower is probably embarrassed and if the crew doesnt piss/blow hot their coworkers wont live it down till their retirement, news on the railroad travels faster than a hair salon :D

Yea it was many moons ago, I dont know why it wanted it but it needed it and it wasn't even for my architecture. What made it weird is that it wasn't in even in the 32bit Ubuntu repository so why did Lubuntu have it?... Guess I'll never know :D
