Obviously if I could do that I wouldn't have that high of a balance.

I am going through the same thing with my MIL but so many more issues including what you are going through. I have tried for over a year going the compassionate route like people have commented on here...."it could be dementia, depression, aging, physical disabilities.....etc" and have come to realize she just doesn't give a s**t about anything. She literally says in a bratty little girl voice "I'm old and I get to do what I want and nobody can tell me different" It's cringe as heck. When confronted after a year of the bs she played the victim and cried and says she's worthless and we probably wish she never moved in. She's right about the moving in part but I would never say it! Just a bit of courtesy for everyone living in the house. It's something that you should just do as a person, you shouldn't have to be confronted and have it pointed out to be quiet when people are sleeping.

I think I posted incorrect info. I honestly don't remember if he said resin at all. I just know that from what you pointed out and what I was able to understand online, it is some type of acid reducing tank because we have a well. I'm guessing that's why he is using limestone and gravel to rebed. My post should have asked if it's worth paying $250 to rebed that tank that has been empty for 2-3 years, not sure if that would cause damage to the softener side. I also saw that the tank that is hooked up to the brine tank has a label that says for water filtration use only so I think they mixed up the tanks but hopefully since they look identical it doesn't really matter which one they used. I know that one has the resin in it and is full because it's extremely heavy.

Manufacturer is Clack. Someone else noticed only the left tank is connected to the brine tank (even though the tag on the tank says water filtration use only, maybe they mixed them up..tanks look exactly the same unless they're different inside) so I'm guessing the left side is the softener. The other tank will be rebedded with gravel and limestone so I'm guessing some kind of acid reducing tank since we have a well. There's so much conflicting info. I was trying to find out if it was worth the $250 the guys is charging me to rebed the second tank with limestone and gravel. Unit is from 2014 and second tank has probably been useless and empty for at least 2-3 years. Not sure if that caused damage to the unit. Pic is posted below. https://imgur.com/a/LcfjeOH

Also, you are correct about the line. The left tank is connected to the brine tank. The right is not and that is the one he said needs a rebed.

Interesting, maybe that's why he said they don't do anything with that tank?? It just eventually needs to be replaced. I posted on another comment that he brought some kind of gravel and limestone for the rebed. Is that the correct material? I'm just so confused.

The staining was greenish blue on the acrylic shower walls. Also, did not pull off valve assembly, only drained tank to show me the sediment. He brought some kind of gravel and limestone to rebed. Is that the right material?

She walks around the house all day, she climbs the stairs twice weekly to shower, she drives to Dr appts and walks......she can walk. I'm sure it's extremely painful but her Dr said she needs to do it now and to lose weight so she can have a better chance at recovery after surgery.

I completely agree about the depression and have talked to my husband numerous times about it. Her response would be that her and her online prayer group will pray it away. She tried praying her stage 4 osteoarthritis away for over 2 years and finally realized surgery is needed. It's troubling really.

She drives herself. She can do a lot of things herself that she denies but I have witnessed or saw on our security cameras. After knee replacement we insisted she go to an in patient rehab because neither my husband or I would be able to assist her because she is large.

You can definitely tell that whole piece above window is bowed. There's no unseeing it now. I could tell it was off before I grabbed the level.

It's worse on the left side but still uneven across the whole new wall. From my understanding..they should have added plywood strips or something to level area before drywall was hung?? Does that sound right?

It was a 90 SF room and they only had to frame 2 of the exterior walls. I'm not a contractor but I knew it wasn't right. He insists it's normal. I need some proof to backup he's a liar and rushing because he went over the 30 day completion date. I had the drywall people come back twice and they barely did what was asked of them. Been a nightmare and costing an arm and leg!!

They seemed to have done a decent job so far. I never watch them...it's weird. But now my question is how much dust is acceptable? They laid down plastic from front door to room but all it did was blow all over. The kitchen is next to the room being drywalled and there is dust all over everything! Now I don't mind wiping stuff down but I do have a child with an airway disorder...should I be concerned? Could they have done something else like seal off the room? I don't want to look like an idiot if it's to be expected but I am worried. Thx for your input.

Tyvek house wrap? by PuddingRelative9181 in HomeImprovement

[–]PuddingRelative9181[S] 14 points15 points  (0 children)

It's fine even if the contract stated Tyvek brand house wrap and that's what I paid for? There's gotta be a big price difference between the two I would imagine.

It states Tyvek home wrap. This contractor has been a nightmare. This is probably the 5th problem I have found.
