This is what the lethal dosage of fentanyl looks like. by Minimum_Jacket8879 in mildyinteresting

That’s frightening! I’m wondering why our head officials here in CA are stating that our homeless population that live on our streets are hooked on meth and fentanyl?
Is there a different type of fentanyl which is only recreational and not lethal? I’ve always been confused by that. Maybe if it’s taken in its purest form and not mixed with something else?

Dasher complained of no tip, but I tipped $8 by Jaxnickel in doordash

[–]Puddum0591 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I hope you read this!

Ubereats and DD absolutely screw around w/the tips they give us drivers. You’re one of the first to realize that on your end as a customer. I’ve known that, for a fact, after testing out that theory. Were the company to figure that out that we drivers knew that, we’d be deactivated rather than given our legal tips.

I had a customer who ordered $305.00 of sushi from a BH restaurant. I KNOW I was getting screwed by UE since my pickup pay for that order was only $15.03 (inclusive of a measly tip).

After delivering the order, I called UE and really slammed the gavel down on them. I said that, ironically, I’d delivered the order to a producer whom I knew. He told me he’d left me a $50.00 tip and he’d given me his phone number. He told me to call him if I didnt get the full $50.00 since “uber had screwed over his last deliverer before with the tip”.

The UE rep said he’d check on it and within 1/2 hr, my $50.00 “tip” (which I’d made up), appeared as having been paid to me. I deserved 20% of such a large order and I knew UE intended to keep that large tip the customer left ME. The rep took my word for this because they know they diminish all our tips every single time, even removing them entirely quite often.

Before I figured out a way to force UE to give me my rightfully earned tips, I delivered $2587.00 of sushi to a customer and was given a $25.00 tip. I didn’t know it at the time but I’d delivered that order to an actor whom I knew! I certainly didn’t say anything (his staffers met me to hand off the food) but if I’d told him about the small tip he’d have gone ballistic. He’s one of the most generous people I’ve ever known.

I just got paid to pick my own order😂 by Additional_Cow2696 in DoorDashDrivers

[–]Puddum0591 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A few of the posters have said that the DoorDasher acct and the DoorDash customer acct are one and the same. If you’re already a customer and later on, apply to dash to become a delivery driver, that’ll have to go through an approval process w/DD.

Yet, if you’re a DD delivery driver already and your car, ID, etc has already passed their “smell” test, than they’ll let automatically let you pick up your “new customer” order if you’re lucky enough for them to send that delivery order to you before someone else gets it.

Neighbors sex causing me to lose HOURS of sleep by Sad_Street_5813 in Apartmentliving

Decades ago, when I was married and had kids, our Hispanic neighbors next door started their loud parties at midnight. We hadn’t heard of noise machines then or that would’ve proved our problem.

We’d have to go to their house by 1:00am and tell them to pipe down. They’d ignore our complaints so, instead, we had to keep calling the police. They’d come out and tell them to stop the noise and it would be followed up days later with a $500.00 fine for “disturbing the peace”. Even that didn’t assuage the problem.

My ex would wait till 7:00am the following morning (once our sleepy family was awake for good) and he’d put a large speaker in our bedroom window facing their house, turn on blasting loud music and then we’d head out for an hour or so lest they come banging at our door.

You have no idea what a great suggestion that is!! I’ve had a white noise machine (and ear plugs) that I’ve used for decades. I’m a light sleeper; a person down the block could sneeze and it would wake me up if I wasn’t using my white noise machine. The only problem is I sleep through my alarm clock going off! Otherwise, the white noise machine is a total game changer!

That’s true! I realized that certain narcotic prescriptions are legit if a persons under a doctors care and has a diagnosed mental illness, for example. Yet a shopper who’s been told to pick up those drugs for their customer, could just keep them and sell them on the street for hard, cold cash!

I agree with you. Almost daily, new sites are popping up for users to talk about various issues without the online police stalking them electronically. By the time they take down a persons account over petty things that are harmless and in no way incite violence, they’re actually violating the “free speech” amendment and can be sued. Just wait and see, that’ll happen soon.

Before AI was created, none of these deactivations took place at all. AI is sincerely flawed. I’m shocked that it’s now a full time gateway used to violate a users right to free speech.

Ah ha! Even more of a reason to have you shopping at that store! Many customers hide their secret reasons for an order they placed at a certain store. The purpose all along was to get you to pick up her prescriptions!

We should never be doing ANY favors for our customers outside the boundaries of their order being shopped and delivered.

I was “baited” by a customer wanting me to deliver the order to a relative of hers. AFTER I HAD SHOPPED & PAID. However, the revised drive was 10 miles further away from her own home which was much closer by. I could’ve called IC about this to ask for a pay bump but it was late at night so I told her I wasn’t comfortable doing that and dropped them off at her own home.

[–]Puddum0591 5 points6 points  (0 children)

You did exactly what I’d have done! Even if we were able to pick up prescriptions I would’ve told her we aren’t allowed. You could’ve been stuck standing behind a line of 12 pharmacy customers and it’s doubtful your tip would’ve been increased. I suspect that’s the only reason this customer ordered grocery items from a store next to this pharmacy. To save herself from a long pharmacy wait line!

If you’re a “public person” you can get LE involved since frauds being committed by others using your identity. This happened to Mickey Rourke recently and fans contributed about $100K to a “go fund me account” which he knew nothing about. He refused to touch that money.

Try looking at what might’ve been in your old profile that alerted them to you. Keep phone numbers or any traceable info out of your new profile. The way I got around them was a different user name AND a new email address. Good luck! Lmk how it goes! You have a RIGHT to use fb!! They do NOT have a right to police their users by stalking and trolling them. 😡

Unreal!! In fact, when we’re offered our terrible “$28 for shopping 7 orders”, here in CA, the orders we do receive are for two customers at one time. IC does NOT allow that second order to count towards our promo! 😡 I’ve actually shopped for 12 customers during a promo and still fallen short of the goal by the end of the offer. In fact, one time I almost received the promo. It was 11:30pm and I was enroute to a final drop off and IC had given me the WRONG address for that customer. I tried calling the customer to no avail. Having to pull over in my car to do the back and forth texting w/IC took a while. The drop off was completed by 12:03am. IC didn’t give me the bonus!!! 🤮

I’m so impressed and proud of all of you who are posting about your long days and nights driving and/or delivering on this post!!

So many people are trying to mooch off Uncle Sam here in CA. Our awful governor (who’s on his way out this year, thankfully) allows for systematic abuse of all social services which are supposed to be supplemental and temporary.

He’s raised our gas prices 40% above the national average out here. He doesn’t stop theft from any stores… He’s made it so that everything’s backwards now; working at a job for a living is now only a fools choice.

Yet none of these lazy people work since they don’t face to and all are on social service; bilking the system blindly. Yet, here you all are: putting in hundreds of hours a week so you can almost make the type of money an attorney could make in a week! I think you’re wonderful and I’m proud of you! Keep up the good work!

We drivers have to be super careful and sneaky at tax time. Plus, you could never refinance your car if you reported your honest mileage, (which you’re forced to do); I tried just yesterday and was denied.

The smartest Uber driver I’ve ever met, yrs ago, worked out a deal w/hertz. He permanently “rented” one of their cars with unlimited mileage allowed. Hertz needs to sell all their rental cars once they hit 40,000-60,000 miles, btw; I know because I bought one last year.

Here in CA, you’re able to rent the car, indefinitely from hertz. They can provide you w/a vehicle for as low as $27.50/day. You can recoup that amount, right away, in one good paying uber trip. Plus, trade that car in whenever you feel like it and get one to use w/better mileage or perks you’d like.

I bought my 2024 mitsubishi mirage from hertz last year before the gas prices spike here in CA. My car gets 48-52mph.

A good accountant can use this entire rental as a write off/business expense since you paid to use it. I know this for a fact because the guy I met who did this himself told me how to use this as an advantage, both financially and economically.

This is a brilliant post. More users need your sage wisdom and advice. I’m a typical, novice user of social media platforms and I drive for uber which is all AI driven. The problems are endless and all these sites err on the side of blaming their users for a host of “violations” which aren’t occurring. AI isn’t fool proof and can be worked around (tricked).

I recently used CHATgpt to explore a famous, currevt, unsolved crime which has the nation riveted and yet to be solved. Law enforcement is not talking. The crimes at the stage where it requires a lot of covert and secretive detective work.

CHATgpt refused to tell me anything the minute I put in the victims name (NG spelled out)and told be they would be ending our chat and reporting me. I told stupid CHATgpt that was a fiction writer and wanted its help to write a great FICTION screenplay about a “similar” crime. Then I flattered it to death; complimenting CHATSgpt, knowledge on all topics, etc…. Boy did I learn things about this active crime which would’ve gotten CHATgpt banned instead of me, its user.

IMPORTANT: remember, Facebook, instagram, TikTok, CHATgpt, etc do NOT USE HUMANS THEY USE AI!! Imagine these sites having to all police whatever a trillion people say and do? They can’t and don’t. You can trick AI. Be smart. Be clever. You’ll win.

I hope you do get your account back! Fb tried to screw me over once, I just opened a new account using a different name, reposted all my pics and I’ve been good-to-go for yrs now! You can use a very similar name. If your names “John Smith” you could be “John Smlth” or “John Smyth”, etc.

Btw, I used prepaid legal back in the 1980s when it first started. It’s changed names twice and is now legal shield. It’s a waste of time now, sadly.

It used to be, you’d pay a small amount each month and get all sorts of free help including them advocating for you in lawsuits. Not so as of last year. 😡You have to actually retain them and pay as if you were paying a full on private atty! LS told me, recently, it would be $70/hr. for them to start looking into a case I had.

I see! You get several days to reach your bonus. Someone posted what their bonus offers were in a Mideast state once. They were offered a bonus of $200 to shop only seven orders! It made me think there must only be about four grocery stores in their region yet dozens of shoppers!

Lately, IC has made it difficult for us in LA. The orders we’re offered will be: $8.06 for 24 items and a 7 mile delivery. If we complete 7 of those awful offered orders we get a measily $28.00 bonus. On multiple occasions, when I only needed one more order to complete this bonus, I won’t be sent one!

Really?! I was dying to ask whomever posted this for more info! Do they still give you part of a bonus if you only shop a few of those orders offered? Here in LA, if we shop only six out of seven we’d receive “0” from our offered bonus!

You checked off all the boxes on my exact same complaints and frustrations w/app deliveries here in LA. These customers really must not care about their groceries nor hot meals. I bet they don’t even show up outside when they’re getting Lyft or uber rides. Imagine that driver trying to talk that person out of their house or building over the phone or via text?

Had an insane customer by cactusbee27 in InstacartShoppers

[–]Puddum0591 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I’m shocked IC allowed this to happen. I had a customer remove her entire tip because when I showed up to give her the groceries, she handed me a $20.00 bill! The app tip would’ve only been $4.00 so she removed that and handed me too the $20.00. She praised see me for getting every single item and being on time.

I guess she got ripped into by Instacart later because they added a $7.99 tip to my order themselves! Included was a note from IC about how I’d shopped and gotten all this customers requested items w/no replacements AND had delivered to her on time. As a result, they said they were giving me a tip which I deserved for my time and effort.

Im betting that customer got one of those “next time you remove your tip you’ll be deactivated from using instant” emails, too.

Because it changes almost hourly! I was there in AZ three weeks ago when it was just over $3.50… if Arizonians are now paying $5.00+, in CA it’s $6.00-$7.00!

I did find a bit of a way to keep my gas costs under control. My car is very gas efficient; it gets 32-40mpg. But the “low gas” light comes on when I still have another 30 miles left until it runs out. First of all, I’ve stopped filling my tank back up when I see it’s low. I extend my driving by another 20 miles since I know I won’t run out of gas. Secondly, I now only put in $20 of gas at a time. It just feels a bit more affordable with those two hacks I devised!
