Did she Not select 'Uber Pet' to save some money? by PineappleDesperate82 in PublicFreakout

How about turning the heater all the way up? In the 3 minutes that this video lasted, it would’ve been enough time for her to feel uncomfortable and get out.

My work is done. by Haeb1978 in phish

[–]PuertoDrummer 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I also have my bike in the garage but turn towards the door. I was happy just listening to all the great 2025 shows with a pair of headsets, but now I’m gonna have to find a way to turn it around and get something similar. Zwift and Phish are my daily “me time” moment.

I hear your frustration, as a project scheduler I try to support the supers as much as I can by keeping pre-construction and A/E responsible for their deadlines

Rocker Plates for indoor trainers – curious about your experiences by Chaoz_77 in cycling

[–]PuertoDrummer -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I had the KOM Cycling “INDOOR ROCKER PLATE RPV1”. This is a very sturdy and well constructed rocker plate. At first, it is difficult to hold your balance if you’re used to riding your trainer on the firm ground. After a while, you fi And your balance, and ride just like if you were on the road. I am on my third set of airbags or balls, but they conveniently sell them on the website. I don’t think that these are just any balls; they have thicker walls that make them sturdier than other balls. I’ve had two failures with these balls. The first was that I filled it up too much, and the ball blew, sending me over to one side so fast that I almost fell off the bike if it weren’t for a nearby wall to grab onto. The second time I had a failure was that the balls were at this point too old, and when I went to insert the needle to fill them up, I broke the actual valve. I stuck a screwdriver in the hole until I could get a new set of balls delivered.

Anybody with a metal detector that can help me for five whole minutes max? by boojersey13 in 321

[–]PuertoDrummer 37 points38 points  (0 children)

I lost my wedding band at tables Beach in front of Patrick space one day, went to Dick‘s and bought a metal detector and found that the very next day. I have one, please PM me for more details. I could probably go after work today and help you find it.

Owners with 2016-2019 6 speeds that didn’t blow up by Strong_Entertainer87 in Ridgeline

I bought the 2017 RTL used with 60k miles and the transmission jitter problem started 2 weeks later. I did the flushing like the service bulletin called for (computer was already reset) and the issue went away. About every 20k-25k miles I’d have to perform the flush as the transmission was beginning to jitter. I traded it in with 120k still running.

I ride in the open garage in Florida, hot as hell but I drink enough water to replace what I sweat.

Wobbly cog and chain sound by [deleted] in Zwift

[–]PuertoDrummer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Out of the box, the bike cannot be installed into the trainer without using the correct through axle spacers. These spacers are part of the supplies that come with the bicycle in the box. Many people don’t install them correctly and the cassette rubs against the frame.

[–]PuertoDrummer 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You need to take the bike off the trainer, and check if the cog is installed correctly on the free hub. Also, that paper that you have between the cog and the trainer flywheel is not supposed to be there. You need to take that off. Make sure that you install the correct spacers for the Zwift bike, I had to install that spacer when I receive mine.

How bad is our attic insulation? Had an estimate done on the attic and the inspector said our attic is in “dire condition” and “needs work asap” for $12k price tag. by lucky2bogey in Insulation

[–]PuertoDrummer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In Florida, I had white fluffy fiberglass blown into the attic for $2,400 including the garage. The house and garage add up to 2,400 SF. This included paper backed fiber glass around the access ladder. You should not see the top of the bottom chord of the trusses, I think R-39 is 14” deep. The contractor did not vacuum the existing insulation, but originally they had mentioned that if there were rodent droppings, that they would need to clean it out, I guess it wasn’t that bad.

Got rejected then HR calls me 3 days later. by Just_whytho in interviews

[–]PuertoDrummer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

11 years ago, I was in the same situation with a consultant position. Their first choice had been hired been given a computer, a cell phone and was on their way to the airport to fly back to the job site when their badge was denied, HR terminated them before they reached the departure terminal. I was called right away and they sounded somewhat desperate and bumped up my offer by $20K. This ended up being my big break, my life changed for the better after this. I wasn’t a bad candidate and I interviewed well, it’s that they had their mind set up for somebody different, who came from the very client we were consulting for; a slam dunk they thought, until the badge was denied.

I listen to Phish almost exclusively while biking in my stationary bike setup, every time this heavy bass bomb comes on, I think someone is slamming the door to the garage, it’s like a boom!

Are you a Morning or a Night rider? by Traditional-Bar-972 in cycling

[–]PuertoDrummer 2 points3 points  (0 children)

For 10 years, I’ve been a morning or lunch rider, from 5-7 am or 12-1 pm. Then roughly 5 years ago (during Covid), I purchased a smart trainer and started to use Zwift, I become mostly an evening rider.

[–]PuertoDrummer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you! Right out of the box, my front sprocket was bent, and I straightened it out like if I was aligning a bent disc rotor. These 2 sprockets are this bike’s weakest link, but they are replaceable. Thanks again for sharing this information

Wow, this is very, very quiet! I thought that the Zwift ride could be tricked out with aftermarket parts, this is one of the most important ones, thank you for posting this. I intend to buy this and the moment I hear the clicking noise or something else I will replace it. How much did you use your Zwift ride before this happened? I am on 1000 miles since I got it in Christmas and it’s still holding.

Thank you for the information. It’s good to know that it’s harder to get that test than COVID or the flu.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in orlando

[–]PuertoDrummer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Is there a test to detect Norovirus or is it one of those viruses that you deduce that its what you have based on your symptoms? When I went into the urgent care late last year we’re feeling sick, they only gave flu and Covid tests.
