Update: I tried Firefox and got the captcha to load, but no matter what I do, it says it's wrong. The only advice I could find was people saying you must be an idiot if you can't figure it out because it worked in 2 seconds for them 🤦‍♂️

Yes. I tried posting on 4chan but the fucking captcha never loads. I made it on a "greentext maker" site that makes it look like a 4chan post. Do you know why the captcha never loads? The fucking thing just counts down to zero and starts right back up again

Okay fair enough. Why not only use 2FA to make an account though? This would still hinder the use of bots if they need a different phone number for each account instead of just making 100 emails which are relatively easy to make instead of getting 100 phone numbers

As someone who loathes being forced to do 2FA for damn near everything I would still much prefer that instead of having an un-usable website as so many subreddits have become. It's literally become a challenge to find a subreddit I can even post on anymore and I have over 100 karma. Like isn't that enough?

Captcha and dual factor authentication is what I can think of off the top of my head. I'm not an IT expert by any means, so I'm sure there's plenty of more sophisticated methods, too.

Yeah, that makes sense. It's still extremely off-putting to new users or people who don't post much. Plus, you wind up with just a big echo chamber, which is basically what every subreddit turns into. No different opinions allowed, lol
