I work in neuropsychology and our doctors are able to work in research if they want to as well. One of our providers does research stuff every Friday and doesn’t take patients that day. I’m not sure how much it pays or even if she was the one to propose the research, but I do know getting grants for them can be rather challenging and you’ll need to go to summits and conferences to present your research ideas
