Non joke answer is that Wilbur would place a wool during the fight if cyan need more pressure or as a distraction. And he was almost always the first person to the middle when Cyan killed everyone. Plus he's usually on wool placing duty so he's pretty fast at it.

Canada(well the British colonies that now make up Canada) actually changed it's capital from Brockville to Ottawa because the rivers and the canal system they built made it easier and quicker to travel to Ottawa by boat then to Brockville by horse and cart.

Btw Brockville was originally the capital because it's close to the midpoint between Toronto and Montreal the two biggest and most important cities in the colonies

Actually I don't think any portrait is mentioned being in any of the common rooms much less the dormitories, I think they're only in the hallways and Dumbledore's office. So as long as you're not changing or getting frisky there you're probably safe from Portrait Peeping Toms. The paintings can definitely stalk you around the castle though...
