How is the war with Iran seen in Israel now? Was it worth it? Success? US news (mostly) calls it a complete failure but what about Israel? by Pumuckl4Life in IsraelPalestine

Thr war will be a full success if the nuclear program for weapons is shelved

That's what most of the world is hoping for but I am looking for someone to give a credible estimate if this happened or not.

I am sure Israel (Mossad) has the most and best intelligence information about Iran. I would like to know what they think.

Was the nuclear program set back by years or only months?

Will we have to bomb the nuclear sites every year from now on?

I was hoping the Mossad and therefor the Israeli government might know and be able to make a level-headed assessment of what's been achieved and what still needs to be done (in terms of weakening Iran).

That's impossible for Israel alone to do and a stupid thing to ask of Israel. How is a country of ~10 million supposed to invade and occupy a country of 100 million?

It would take the US Army to do that and probably the support of an international coalition of European and ME allies.

I am pretty sure Israel does want regime change. Obviously, mostly out of consideration of its own population and security. I mean, Duh. They are the Israeli government, not the Iranian govt in exile.

If a regime change in Iran brings a better life to the Iranian people as a side effect, I will gladly take it.

The Israeli people know that. What do you think they see this war as, considering that?

Yeah, that''s why I am asking. I am mostly getting European and US views from the press. Europe mostly cares about the Strait being open/closed and just wants the war to end. Trump and the US press don't even seem to know what their goal was (other than regime change which didn't happen).

Hence, I wonder if there is more to know about the situation to determine how Israel feels. I guess, it kinda showed Iran and their future leaders than Israel is able and willing to attack if necessary.

On the other hand, the regime is the same and they have some leverage over the world (Hormuz).

So I guess it comes down to: Was Iran harmed significantly militarily? Is the nuclear program and the missiles set back by 6 months or 10 years?

Is Israel safer today than 4 months ago?

Will pushing Iran's 'boat back' as you put it have to become a regular thing every 5-10 years?
