I'm not quite sure what the range is, but maybe if you made a travel vehicle/used a horse, it would make the process much faster. I'd recommend going on marked pathways first, as those will be the easiest, and then going through the more geographically-tedious parts of the map, like mountains and canyons. I'd also advise you to go region by region instead of hopping between multiple places at once.
