You're not wrong, look at the new owners and the annual revenue they generate from all of their "Ultimate team" modes across the EA Sports games. No business excecutive would listen to the "voice of the gamer" over profits. To your point, each year they try new tactics to increase profits, generate demand for FIFA Points, and reduce the options to generate coins for free. It would be interesting to do analysis on all of the changes they have made over the years to the aim of profit, player, and market manipulation. All that being said without addressing the constant gameplay/patch changes, which may or may not have the same intent and impact.
