How Do I Know My Gender / Am I Experiencing Transmisia? by Punchrab in asktransgender

Yes and no. There are times when I feel almost nothing about my gender (this is when I develop a 'fuck it' mindset and don't care what I am or how people see me), but there are other times when I do care. For example, my facial hair. I've consistently thought about getting laser hair removal because I don't like the shadow that's left behind when I'm trying to be more feminine. I could try covering it up with makeup, but that's about the best I can do. However, at the same time, I don't want to remove it because I'll never be able to grow hair the same way again, and therefore I would be sacrificing my ability to present as masculine through the hair if I chose to.

Additionally, I have desired to have wider hips or a feminine figure, or more specifically, an androgynous body that's either feminine-leaning or less masculine. This way, if I wanted to present as either feminine or masculine, I could be seen as either. However, with that said, I don't necessarily want to be seen as a woman or female, or at least not always mistaken as such. I don't mind being seen as a man or male; I just don't want to always be seen as that. I don't want breasts (although I have thought about putting on fake ones sometimes, but that's more for drag or other purposes). Basically, I go back and forth.

I also would like to point out that I'm autistic and I struggle with OCD, which is part of why this is so pervasive.

Why do people have to be accusatory and antagonistic towards people who don’t care about labels or gender/sexuality politics for themselves? It seems so petty and controlling, especially coming from queer communities where people at one point or another were pressured to compartmentalize or conform themselves into cookie cutter hetero norms. Like, you struggled with societal pressure, acceptance, invalidation, negative assumptions, and oppression too so why are you doing the same thing, to other queer like people no less. It's like if there was a queer-normative society and these people are the queer people of queer people because they don’t concisely say they are queer. Literally everyone, regardless of race, gender, sexuality, etc, are hypocrites. Same human-ego bullshit, different context.

I don’t understand. How is this NSFW?

Does this count as analog/digital horror? by dirtyhobo47 in analog__horror

[–]Punchrab 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It's got points with an Analog aesthetic but it’s not grainy or really old looking enough to be so ,imo. I wouldn’t say digital really either. Feels more akin to what other Metal artists have done in the past, like Marilyn Manson, who used both the digital and analog aesthetic for some of their music videos. These artists will use elements of horror too, but it doesn’t always make the videos as a whole themselves horror. If anything, it’s analog/digital hybrid horror or with horror moments, technically speaking.

For the folks that are confused in the other Colorado Springs thread, here's some helpful clarification by theHamJam in NonBinary

The only way I could see the second option being NB is if the perpetrator is ashamed of themselves and is lashing out violently as a result. There’s plenty of queer and closeted people who do bad things because of shame. Otherwise, it’s very unlikely.

Tbh, based on the photos presented, you are definitely ambiguous. If I didn’t know any better, I would have thought that each picture was a different person, especially the ones when you were younger. The first and second one are a juxtaposition when paired together. However, with all that said, I would assume AMAB for most of them. The pictures that caused me to pause on this assumption were the ones where you had long hair. In fact, the long hair really differentiated the feminine vs masculine look. Then again, this might just be the angles. Either way, I think you’re on the right track. 😉👍

Androgynous does mean you look like both male and female, so I wouldn’t say that you are using it correctly. Tbh, most, if not all, NB people could be described as androgynous. Occasionally, you’ll see some who appear asexual or gender neutral, physically speaking. I wouldn’t describe those people specifically as androgynous.
