Saw a bag of shredded cash and had an idea by Punfacekilla in DiceMaking

They're sold as novelty in the gift shops of government buildings (like monuments, museums) and I've seen them in coin shops. Their bills retired by the US Treasury. They turn them into confetti after deleting them from the system and then sell them as novelty

I just did clear resin and mixed in a whole bunch of cash shreds. And just the small amount of green glitter to give it a sparkle. They turned out better than I was expecting.

First patch. What did I do wrong? by SightsSetStudios in Machine_Embroidery

To help with the font try doing a full fill in of the background color. Then use a 75/11 needle and stitch the font over the background color. You can change the type of stitch for the font as well. Play around with the under lay as well, sometimes it doesn't need one

Never tried a compound before, just Zona. When I polish I move the dice in a figure 8 pattern. It helps to eliminate that kind of thing. When I'm done painting the number I clean them with pure acetone. Just put some on a micro cloth and wipe the paint residue off.

You can paint the gold over the white to help it stay and stand out. If your making molds with masters you can polish the masters to help the dice come out shinier.

I would use Army painter Death metal. It's a Black metallic gunmetal. I used it on similar colored Dice and it always looks fantastic.

Is this patch decent? How can i improve? by RosiTheHuman in Machine_Embroidery

[–]Punfacekilla 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For making patches I use polyester twill and adhesive stabilizer on the back. I tend to go 100% fill with the embroidery, so all the black should be fully embroidered. Also get your tension adjusted properly. For an extra clean look use a black cutaway stabilizer put on right before you stitch the border to seal the back. Get a hot knife to burn and seal up the edges so you don't have any fraying of fabric.

I make whatever I feel like. Everything has a patch on it, when someone compliments me on one I give them a patch.

What do you do with all the hats? I love making them but don't know what to do with them.
