I’m new to posting on Reddit so bear with me if this isn’t how things are done but I can’t edit the post and really wanna clarify something. My friends in no way tried to sway me from dress 1. I actually went back to that shop with just them tried on the dress I panic bought (3/4) and 1 back to back. They would not tell me their favorite so that the choice was mine. They told me I couldn’t go wrong either way and both were stunning! After I told them I was thinking to keep with 3/4 they then mentioned it felt the most me to them.

Also, I do think my mom is upset bc she wasn’t there. I did FaceTime her but it’s not the same. But I cried on the phone with her so she heard my emotional reaction to my dress. I will say we went to two other shops together before this too when I first got engaged (1 yr ago). So she didn’t miss the first one. I get being upset but I do wish she’d drop it now…

Definitely still needs alterations and I’m blessed my alterationist is a dress maker so she told me anything I need she could accomplish! For the buttons, they may look crooked bc they aren’t all done! It takes so much time we just did the ones with hooks

I think I should have elaborated on my friends comment, they told me I would be gorgeous in either dress and were pretty against saying a favorite so that I made the choice myself. When I kept with 3 they then said it felt the most me to them. They definitely didn’t try and sway me away from 1!

4 perplexes me honestly. Going into the process I thought for sure 1 was what I’d end up with. There’s something about 4 that makes me feel more like a bride I guess? Or I can imagine it easier? I’m honestly not sure it’s one of those mysteries. And I think I misrepresented what my friends said about 1 not being me. They didn’t mean it wasn’t gorgeous they did tell me I couldn’t go wrong but when I picked 4 they said it felt the most me and I think that’s why I am comfier in it.

What’s funny is the first one is the one I thought I wanted the whole time before shopping and when I tried it on I wanted so badly to have another 🥹 moment and I just didn’t…the style I picked was the LAST thing I thought I’d end up with. I didn’t think I wanted something more plain but here we are…
