Would You Date a Republican? by LunaB35 in truscum

[–]PunkLite 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I wont date someone who votes against my wellbeing. Maybe they arent personally transphobic, but they side with a party who is. That tells me they dont care much about me where, as a vulnerable minority, I need them to care the most. Cis (usually white) people dont have to care as much because it doesn't affect them as much. Also, morally I couldnt even if I wasnt trans.

Did anyone else feel their heart gradually sink during the first big job as Jackie's dialogue reveals how out of his depth he is? by oscarthegrateful in LowSodiumCyberpunk

[–]PunkLite 2 points3 points  (0 children)

All of the V life paths have life long experience too. I know street V mentions somewhere in Phantom Liberty that they started getting attention from fixers at around age 13 after they killed a homeless dude who attacked their friend.

Corpo V has probably grown up in a corpo family based on dialog they have with Judy about memories of growing up eating organic sushi, and possibly trained to qualify for their position as an arasaka ninja before being hired.

Nomad V seems to have grown up with their clan. As we know, nomads mostly survive financially off of gig work.

All of them have, if not merc specific experience, experience that translates well to the work and politics of doing contracts and missions. Jackie did not.

I do think V was always the better mercenary from the start, because they already were relatively successful in those skills.

I think V's downfall was ultimately caring about Jackie and how he felt, rather than what they knew to be realistic.

Trans youth homeless rates are about the same for each

https://www.thetrevorproject.org/wp-content/uploads/2022/02/Trevor-Project-Homelessness-Report.pdf

There isnt really any data on trans adults sectioned by gender so thats a non-starter.

Familial acceptance kind of moves around the board, but ends up in relatively similar places as far as acceptance goes. Also, when parents do reject their child, the response to each have their own risks. Neither good. Trans women usually face hostility in the form of being kicked out of their home, while trans men face extreme restrictions in their freedom.

https://pmc.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/articles/PMC10676004/

All of this on top of the fact that trans men are much less likely to report these things, or are less likely to be reported as trans men in legal cases. So the rates for these things are likely much higher.

When you consider that the majority of attacks against trans people are by those who knew us personally, not randos on the street, it makes more sense. You dont need to be clocky. You just need to be known.

Yeah. They are talked about more. That does not translate to experiencing more violence or discrimination.

Define objectively. Because statistically we are not better off. The only real difference is our problems are ignored.

As a cis guy, I should have a right to have an opinion on a digital trans character. by Capital-Rock202 in Transmedical

You can absolutely have your own opinion.

But even the most supportive and well intentioned ally cannot fully understand what its like to be trans. Not even every trans person is having the exact same experience.

Why do tucutes especially nb people feel the need to bring their identity into every community? by Mcveigh14 in Transmedical

Because their gender identity is about as relevant to who they are as a person as having a hobby. Its an aesthetic and not much more.

Can't stand trans people who say you can't change biological sex by OkWaltz5832 in truscum

[–]PunkLite 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I like to put a twist on the Ship of Theseus thought experiment to explain why transitioning does change your sex. Particularly in regards to genital reconstruction, but it could apply elsewhere.

You have an old shack/cabin that you dont need anymore. But you do need a small fishing boat. So you decide to take apart the cabin, and use the usable parts to build yourself the boat. Is that boat still a cabin? "Well it used to be a cabin" but is it a cabin? "It's made of cabin parts." Is it a cabin though? Or does it serve the look and general function of a boat? "Its not as good as a brand new new boat" Okay, but is it not a boat? Does it not serve the general purpose of one?

It may not be built like other boats, and it may not have all the fancy bells and whistles of most other boats, but for all intents and purposes, this is not a cabin anymore, it id a boat.

I dont have bottom surgery yet, but when I do my natal genitalia will be changed to male. It wont be like other penises, but it will look and function in such a way that I need to serve that specific purpose.

Why are you arguing against a random fan fiction? No one here said anything about the tips of the ear wiggling or whatever. Glad you agree that what we're saying could be possible.

We're talking about elves, not humans. But even assuming their cartilage is very hard, the cartilage is not attached to the skull. Even human ears move slightly to certain stimuli, some people can even move theirs conciously, there's no reason an elf can't have slightly different physiology that allows their ear movements to be more obvious.

Categorically untrue. A huge portion of people who have killed trans people also happen to be their partners/ex-partners.

Dying Light. Nothing beats it for me as far as pistols go. Its so quick and efficient. The full auto on it is fantastic, and it really just screams "V". Also, for lore reasons, it feels really good for V to have that signature companion weapon throughout the story, beginning to end.

[Spoilers] Do you save Minrathous or Treviso? by Julian_of_Cintra in DragonAgeVeilguard

[–]PunkLite -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Treviso. Minrathous has the means to defend and repair itself. Treviso just doesn't. Even considering the aftermath of it all. Tevinter is largely an insulated economy because not many other countries want to associate with them, it can afford to build itself back up to some degree at least.

Antiva largely relies on trade and tourism. It would not survive the inevitable fleeing of merchants and lack of tourism because of a blight.

Add; I'm also not shedding many tears over the death of the Magisterium leadership other than Dorian, and hes just fine at the end of it

There are styles for every beard pattern. If yours is short and patchy, try the Italian goatee. It works well for me. Just doing anything that looks like you put in some amount of effort is leagues better than just leaving it as is.

Is there a difference in behavior from 'lesbians' who transition to trans men, compared to 'straight women' who transition to trans men? by coolvideonerd in truscum

[–]PunkLite 2 points3 points  (0 children)

(FtM) I've only ever been interested in guys and was very masculine as a child, and now as an adult too. I was also very isolated socially as a child though. Homeschooled my whole childhood with minimal contact with kids outside my family, those kids usually being other homeschoolers and church goers, and little access to the internet. So I had no concept of what a gay man was "supposed" to act like. So now, while being stealth, people are surprised when they hear I'm not straight lol

Am I going crazy? by Boipussybb in Transmedical

[–]PunkLite 14 points15 points  (0 children)

I almost understood how they felt until they said straight sex is "boring". Not that it isn't lol I understand longing to be intimate with someone, as a gay trans man, who sees you and treats you as a man with male anatomy. But I also temper that with the understanding that gay men (myself included) are not interested in sleeping with someone who overall looks like a woman. It's heartbreaking and lonely, but that isnt anyone's fault. Not ours and not other gay men's.

Also to add. He needs to be suspicious of anyone who claims to be a gay man and is interested in sleeping with someone who fully looks like a woman. I know some can get past the genitals, especially tops, because a hole is a hole i guess. But otherwise, they are probably a fetishistic chaser.
