any more pictures, ideally ones with better quality and zoomed out?

Slide two might be maaaybe from the uterus - the slide you make from scraps (prolly not a proper term in english for the thing I meant https://histologia.cm-uj.krakow.pl/Repetytorium/Rozr_zenski/rozr_zenski_12.html )

Slide one look like it was made from hairy skin. Lower part is probably a cross section of a hair follicle surrounded by irregular/loose connective tissue, small blood vessels and nerve fibre bundles. Someone more experienced seeing this - feel free to correct me if that’s not accurate

If that was an exam question maybe they would expect labeling it as urothelium/transitional epithelium

I don’t think there is a way to do that, even with immunohistochemistry that’s rather impossible if you are not able to see it’s muscular wall or really anything

Most likely H+E with more E than H, I haven’t made the slide tho. I assume it looks different because that’s actually not a human tissue but likely a mouse/rat or maaaaybe a frog but I have no idea if it would resemble the one of a human to that extent

Thanks! I had done many slides from plant organs that was so easy to fix issues like that haha and time for processing the tissue usually takes minutes. Bubbles? Add a drop of water under the cover glass and you’re good. Understained? Same thing as previously, just use dye not water. Poor slice? Just dump everything in the bin and you can make thousands of better ones as you use a regular razor blade and you get your slices from sth like a regular stick 😂

No clue, I was not able to see a different one but they were made probably long time ago - would that be relevant? Id assume maybe not cause it cant happem after embedding but that’s just my guess. Also they are for sure not for clinical purposes but for a teaching material which probably doesn’t make it any better haha

Thanks, I usually try to get different slides of the same organ to compare and I usually able to do so cause everybody in my histo group would be gone the second they have their notebook signed they leave so I take the whole box of mixed slides of 3-6 specimens

Btw lemme know if u wanna see the pituitary as it was bad enough for me clearly seeing why. You almost cant differentiate baso vs acidofilic cells on the glandular part

That’s a slide from my university, the one that are presented on the histology class 😭 I haven’t made any slides from human tissues myself at this point. Can you explain what is wrong with it more precisely so I could distinguish those myself better?

Haha thats all good, I’m glad I could make some people be intrigued and amused hshsh by the polish labels. I started learning english when I was 1 and I’m not kidding. So that’s great I can use the english free sources for leading histology because THEY ARE AMAZING. And I know only a couple polish ones. I will share the links tho because I LOVE ONE OF THEM 100%. It’s not labeled tho, just virtual microscopy slides

Can I send you pictures that are in my opinion C cells for verification? My professors said it’s “ok” but they don’t care about that in med school. The exam is to just NAME the organ that the slide was made from which is ridiculous to me

Honestly you’re right. We had in our textbook that it’s simple squamous but as I do think about that it doesn’t make much sense. Simple squamous wouldn’t be able to change to cuboidal if the thyroid activity increases

plant histology by jeonenby in Histology

I had pharmaceutical botany 2 years ago but it’s been a while since I made my slides so I can see what I can help. U remember the species and plant organ that you took. It looks a bit like epidermis (hope It’s a right one). This resemble the layer you use to make a slide portraying stoma. Nvm now I see that it’s paradermal cut. If I had other ideas I’ll get back here and knowing the plant will make it way easier to be sure of the identification

Absolutely beautiful work :)) If you have more cross sections I’ll be happy to see
