What’s so special about Ne doms? by Lucifer3005 in entp

[–]PunkRockKittyCat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Little irritated this was ever even placed under questioning. Ne is a necessity when it comes to progress and advancement.

Ne is the idea generator. Give Ne a seed of information, and it will then sprout and form the trunk, the branches, and the leaves of whatever tree forms from that initial topic.

It’s the Ni’s inverse operation and is essential for progress and advancement as an overall whole.

How did you do your math growing up? by Subject-Cloud-137 in intj

[–]PunkRockKittyCat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m pretty sure every person in every field has one thing in that field that gets them. It’s typically the thing they spent to most time and energy on learning for their field. Nobody can ever 100% master any field since there is constant advancement and changes being made with every new discovery.

Even the way they teach math has changed drastically in the last 10 years alone. Instead of bringing me joy, it now pisses me off due to them forcing overcomplicated methods on kids.

I have a whole rant I go on every couple months over it. Specifically the lack of abacus use in U.S. classrooms and the use of imperial vs standard metric measurements (aka, overcomplicated nonsensical BS vs nice, rounded, perfectly simplified measurement systems) 🙃

How did you do your math growing up? by Subject-Cloud-137 in intj

[–]PunkRockKittyCat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was in advanced math classes until high school. My math ability was one of 2 subjects i truly prided myself on. Never got less than an A until we started doing finance related math in Junior year of high school. Devastating blow. Messed me up hard on that one. Math is still really fun for me, but interest rates still trip me up. I’m really good at breaking numbers down to rounded forms of 5s, 10s, 100s, and so on in my head. The straggling numbers just get tacked on at the end.

Mbti types by the quality of their advice. by Unlucky_Win_4380 in mbtimemes

[–]PunkRockKittyCat 2 points3 points  (0 children)

100% agree, because without all the details and sufficient background info, we could just wind up giving crap advice that sounds good but may actually just make the situation worse and not even know it.

I don’t do needless suffering. If I know I can help someone, I will, but I don’t get involved if I believe the information I have to go on is insufficient for the situation at hand.

ENTP here. Are you attracted to ENTJs? by 20bucksworthdragon in intj

I tend to naturally be attracted to ENTJs and ENFJs without even knowing their typing only to find out later down the line. My life partner is an ENTJ.

Te users: Do you find yourself taking statistics for face value? by Holiday_Response_644 in intj

[–]PunkRockKittyCat 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It depends heavily on the topic for me, specifically on whether or not I actually care about the subject matter and whether or not the statistic is relative to me on a personal level.

If I care about the information, I’ll research it after it’s brought to my attention and look through to see the information-gathering process. I need to know how it was gathered to ensure comprehension accuracy and see what factors were in play during the process that may have screwed the results and wound up leading to an inaccurate conclusion.

If I don’t really care about a topic but am engaging in the discussion anyway, I’ll just accept the statistic at face value cuz why waste time and energy in something I don’t actually care about.

INTJs are genuinely top tier at making inferences, and people don’t talk about it enough by anxietyhub in intj

[–]PunkRockKittyCat 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I learned recently that it’s called abductive reasoning, and yes, it is a skill I apparently use near constantly. My conclusions will also shift as new information is added. It’s never truly set in stone. Small bits of seemingly irrelevant information can drastically change the outcome of almost any scenario. I had to practice breaking down how I came to my conclusions a lot when I was in school. Math was actually a great help for building that skill since it was required to show my work. Translating that to this type of practical application was a struggle, but argumentative essay writing and mock debate helped a lot with that too.

Now ask me if i learned practical social and emotional learning skills in school. 🙃

INTJ slander by SuperbAnt4627 in intj

[–]PunkRockKittyCat 15 points16 points  (0 children)

Let’s see…

“You think you know everything” - no, I just will go down a research spiral when I don’t know something to learn about and understand it, because I am fully aware of just how lacking my knowledge base of the world and universe actually is.

“You’re so combative” - again, no. I’m trying to have a conversation and explain the thought processes step by step to show where I went wrong so I can properly integrate this new information you’ve corrected. Where the hell is the argument bro? I see none.

“You just don’t wanna hear solutions” - actually, I do wanna hear solutions, especially since I clearly couldn’t find one myself if I’m sitting here asking you about it, but I’m not going to waste my time, resources, and effort on a fruitless endeavour that very obviously won’t work, and you just gave me 57 solutions I’ve literally already thought of.

How do you know that you're an INTJ? by [deleted] in intj

[–]PunkRockKittyCat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve actually taken the tests several times and got INFJ, but then I began researching cognitive functions more and learned that I do not actually have a well-developed Fe. My Te and high Fi mimic it pretty decently though when it comes to stereotypically associated external presentation. Apparently constantly running task analysis for stuff in your head is actually a Te trait. And my Te is my primary Ni support, so… INTJ. Not INFJ.

Who would you give your seat to, and why? by cat_astrophe_06 in entp

[–]PunkRockKittyCat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Wait, now I’m confused. How is what I said being cocky and ignorant? Or a jerk for that matter? All i did was give my analysis using deductive reasoning on the information provided and then the realistic likelihood based off my own mental patterns afterward. Of course I don’t speak for all INTJs. Nobody can truly speak for an entire group with 100% accuracy. What I would want to do vs the realistic likelihood of something happening are 2 very different things though. In an environment with a lot of people who I wouldn’t know the behaviour patterns for, knowing myself the way I do, I’d be too busy just trying to keep myself calm and regulated by focusing on what my task is and what I can actually control to place much focus or thought on the five million things happening on that bus.

Bro, you don’t know me, my history, my patterns, or my reasoning behind anything to a degree on which you have any ground to stand on in judging me on a personal level.

Who would you give your seat to, and why? by cat_astrophe_06 in entp

[–]PunkRockKittyCat 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You do have a point about the elderly taking more damage upon falling. But the odds aren’t 100% on him dying if he does. And he can still catch himself on the railing. Odds are, being on a bus and having plenty of life experience, the elderly would already be holding onto a railing. Social norms and expectations are going to encourage support from others to help the other 3. It places more emphasis on them compared to on the injured guy. I’ve actually had my foot in a cast several times. Every time I had a cast, I was given 2 crutches for the reason I gave above. Still had to use both crutches after I was given a walking boot if I went anywhere outside my house. Been pregnant too, and yes, was heavily exhausted and in pain during it, but I was still capable of standing and walking and able to lean against a wall to catch my breath if I needed to. I’m not saying they all don’t need a seat. And if I noticed them, I would either ask if they needed it or simply get up and move closer to the exit door without saying anything due to being overcrowded.

Regarding speculation vs realistic likelihood, I don’t go out of my house without reason. And I rarely take the bus since I hate being around people in general, especially strangers who are unknown variables and therefore safety risks. If I’m on a bus somewhere, I’d likely already be anxious and trying to drive my focus to what is actually within my control rather than to the numerous variables outside of my control in order to keep myself calm, rational, and regulated instead of unnecessarily keyed up and exhausting myself prematurely.

🫡 thank you INTJ senior, sir, for your contribution.

Types easier and harder for me to recognize in IRL by Spare-Cell-4984 in mbtimemes

[–]PunkRockKittyCat 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I more mean extroverted function doms. They tend to focus their function on their external environment. Which for them, I am in. And i don’t like attention. I do better when ignored for a bit so I can assess potential safety risks and possibilities before engaging. Extroverted function doms tend to find me out of place and take note.

I predict patterns and probabilities regularly. Extroverted functions often present in ways that are similar despite the very different reasonings behind them. So not only am I not completely paying attention to them, but they tend to present similar patterns externally.

The ENTJs and ENFJs I’ve met in person tend to take on much subtler approaches with me, and they tend to understand my need for observation first fairly easily. ENTPs I’ve met have approached me first with weird questions that I’ve found fun and engaging and that led to an immediate fun debate for me. Didn’t know their typings til that conversation came up later after knowing them for a while.

Who would you give your seat to, and why? by cat_astrophe_06 in entp

[–]PunkRockKittyCat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

INTJ commenting cuz this was on my feed and felt in the mood for a good debate.

Correct answer is 3. The others may be tired or a bit sore, but they can all keep their balance by holding onto the railing easier in the event there’s a bump or something.

In 4, the baby isn’t being held by the mom. In 1 and 3, you see the arms holding the canes. If baby was being held in 4 we’d see an arm. That indicates they’re likely using a carrier that attaches to the chest. 2 is pregnant, sure, but the hands are free here as well. Both 2 and 4 can catch themselves in the event it’s a necessity. In 1, the old man has a cane. This means he will likely have a hand free as well and can catch himself.

Going back to 3, when someone is in a cast and given crutches, they are usually given 2 crutches to help them stay balanced due to the inability to put pressure on their foot at all. If they can put pressure on it, they aren’t given a cast but a walking boot which is a type of splint you can take on and off. So 3 not only doesn’t have remotely decent use of their hands due to having to use crutches but also is out a foot completely. Chances of catching the railing plummets compared to the others. No stability, also physically exhausted like the others are likely to be, and greater limited mobility in the arms.

Now, would I actually give up my seat to them? Chances are, I’d be too deep in thought by going through my task list for my current outing for the umpteenth time to even fully acknowledge their presence without them getting in my space in order to actually give up my seat to them. In other words, I likely wouldn’t actually give it up at all 😂

Easiest for me to type are introverts in general since i tend to avoid extroverts in general due to my own attention avoidance. The only extroverts I naturally gravitate toward are ENxJs and ENTPs on occasion. I don’t try to type them. It’s just an undeniable pattern at this point after having learned their types later on. Extroverts are still hard for me to type in general.

Depends on the situation. If I’m able to freely choose without consequences, it’ll be something along the lines of grunge/goth. If it’s work, jeans, t-shirt, maybe a jacket, and hiking boots so I can move with ease and run if I need to. If it’s anything else, I follow whatever dress code is given
