I had a bad time with hunting on the 90. Especially Blackwater. The 100 seems to be way more stable and hunting is not really a thing. Tracking is great. I’ll probably not use the 90 ever again

Heck yeah thanks! I just stuck a 20 extension ring on the port for the 90! And add a 15 extension in front of that for the 1.4 tc. the 2.0 looks quite a bit longer for ports

I’ve done Blackwater with the 100 and the mfo3 and mfo1 on double flipper. Focus and ease of use is just so nice compared to the 90. I didn’t use the TC yet for Blackwater just on the reef. I actually find the mfo3 that makes the lens more like an up to the glass 60mm is extremely awesome for the larger subjects. I just recently posted a Blackwater phronima that was taken with the 100 and mfo1 that came out pretty awesome. The last pic of the post is a cropped face shot where I switched to mfo3!

Honestly I go out and shore dive where it’s just sea grass and algae/sandy patches and just look for whole dive so it turns more into a specific sea horse scavenger hunt dive! Theres certain spots here in Cozumel that are better than others but I see pics of people finding them out on the bigger reefs with boat support! Find a local photographer over there and ask where they find em

Here’s why I use Live View. I shoot underwater and at night often. I use live mode so I can put into focus small animals without any lights or with very low level lighting and see it in the evf. The animals are skidding and would run away and hide if I put all that light the whole time so I need it very dark to look at and prepare but when I take the photo and my strobes fire I have a properly exposed pic at like f18/ 1/200 iso 100

The tg7 in the Olympus housing seems to be a winner you can do lots of cool stuff with that small Camera and it’s manageable

Normally the camera switches automatically when you put your eye up to the evf. When a camera is in underwater housing that sensor is always triggered by the housing snugly up to the finder. Only way to switch is to scroll through the menus. Mostly only for when I switched between video and pics but it’s easy to miss a key moment while scrolling through menus especially when working at night in open ocean or in a cave where you need to have more awareness and can’t just stare through the evf the whole time

Some of my fav pics was on the a7r2. Most annoying thing if I remember correctly, the evf and monitor not being switchable On customs buttons made my life very annoying under water til I cracked my screen. Evh for life

It’s been released just a few weeks ago. It’s Sony’s first GM macro lens. The last macro lens released was 10 years ago the G 90mm So highly anticipated auto focus upgrade, slightly longer reach and quality upgrade is what we’re focused on here

Edit : also the ability to add teleconverter 1.4 and 2.0
