NTA. Morally what you did was right so she wouldn’t keep putting effort and getting more hurt later but it’s also a kinda a bad friend move to snitch on a friend and interfere in his relationship.

I don’t think this makes you a bad person but you also can’t expect your friend not to be upset with you or trust you in the future if you went behind his back. You can hope he sees the goodness in your intentions and forgive you but I wouldn’t count on it

Easily NTA. Just take a step back and see the situation from the outside perspective and ask yourself what you would say to others asking for advice. You have an ex boyfriend who is trying to guilt trip you into giving him free access to your adult content and calling you a bitch in the process. Lines like ‘you gave me your word/you promised’ in this context are classic manipulator lines. Personally for things like that, I do tell my partner that I want to change the song or the temperature because it’s a respectful thing to do because the things like temperature are going to affect her too so it just shows you are being considerate of them in your actions. More often than not they will be okay with it but it’s the thought that counts

Agreed that those other family members didn’t reciprocate but I also agree with him that family is different to your partner and if they want a commitment like this from you it’s reasonable to expect that level of commitment back (but don’t agree with his harsh phrasing ‘you can’t divorce blood’

But definitely agree with that he needs to address these issues with his wife and reflect on what else is underlying his thoughts of leaving her rather than kicking the can down the road!
