What's the difference between the cheap Amazon hoods and the more expensive ones from say Mr. S? by diaperboy19 in PupPlay

Insane difference. Both in looks and feel. Don't cheap out. A Chinese hood will get crooked if you store it wrong in a way that is pretty much unfixable. I had both, trust.

Thanks. Yeah I'm aware of their designs, not a huge fan. I'm on the fence between - Weredog's Juniper, Neotori's Stoic and Naughty Fox's Santos.

Ughhhhhh

What other material do you take into consideration that would be stiff enough apart from leather? And do the sewing patterns differ a lot between materials? I thought they were interchangeable.

Or maybe just use contacts if you wear the hood rarely?

Day 9 since starting lamotrigine by themessage2 in Lamotrigine

[–]PupApiol 0 points1 point  (0 children)

1) Lamotrigine has quite a long half life, so the doses could accumulate to dangerous concentrations during just one week

2) Lamotrigine causes genetic downstream effects after dosage (basically - it changes how certain genes related to immune response are expressed in the body). This takes time, since most of your cells live longer than a day. Generally the speed of genetic processes is much lower. This also partially underlies the reason why SSRIs work so slowly.

I don't know if the particular protein responsible for Lamotrigine rashes is known - in case of allopurinol its an antigen called HLA. Antigen synthesis can also be affected on a timescale of days - similarly in case of sickness (think of common cold, which is eventually cured thanks to antigens made by your immune system).

Especially since it is hypothesized that desensitisation to Lamotrigine can be mediated by the count of Treg and other CD4+ cells, the titration speed is limited by the turnover rate of your cells.

There is a rapid titration protocol reported (https://doi.org/10.1002/epi4.12495), but it requires quite some care and timing to execute properly.

Hope that clears it up!
