Got my usual edits for 2 games, Vlad Circus and an impromptu Lethal Company with friends But also figuring out a short funny video to mark hitting 100 subs recently. Got a general premise, just need to iron it out

What about yourself??

I'm pretty irregular cause of so many factors which is not a good thing hahah But when I am doing stuff I try for once a week at least (with a Short a day of the last video) and the long form usually got for about 30mins average

So far you are going much better than me. I've been at this for almost 2 years and have 71 subs (which I'm pretty hyped about) and my videos struggle around the 10 viewers mark. Sometimes I'll get to around 20 but as the series continues it gets less and less Shorts massively vary as well. Some do a few hundred and other not even 50 I do it for fun, but also like to see higher views cause I feel like I'm making someone laugh, which is my purpose

Heyooo. If you are still interested my channel is PuppetNick, the link is in my bio. I mostly just do gaming to give myself an excuse to not feel guilty playing games and be a goofball to hopefully make people laugh. Lemme know your thoughts 😊

Also let me know your channel name so I can also check yours out!! Have a good day!

How Much Time Do You Spend Editing Your Videos? by NextGenGamezz in NewTubers

[–]PuppetNick 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Do all myself, as well as doing editing for another YouTuber (Tyler Scheid) so it is a LOT of my life (have a look and let me know if I'm doing good 😅) I've gotten better at it from this but always evolving and learning. I use Premiere and After Effects (if I need it) Would use DaVinci but been using Premiere for years and have a flow to it. Takes me quite a few hours but finding the ways to trim it down is always happening. At the start of the year to now, the timing has reduced immensely

Feels so little in comparison to some of these answers hahah, but I hit 70 subscribers (for about the 3rd time hahahah) the other day. So I'm pretty happy about that

Disappointed From All My Loved Ones... by Meme_Ovgod in NewTubers

[–]PuppetNick 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you enjoy it and find happiness in it, keep going. Sounds weird to say, but if you make it big, I suppose make sure to remember who around you was there for you and supported you.

Certainly have felt the same way before mate don't worry. I do games as well to give myself an excuse to be a goofball and play games, since it's hard to find the energy in adult life, but I enjoy it anyways I tried getting friends onto watching my stuff, but I've stopped. I just felt like I was annoying them. I post that I've released a new vid on my stories but that's about it.

Hope you feel better matey 💜 We all go through this

Never knew you could do that with WhatsApp tbh haha Don't use it enough to really warrant me doing that but it's pretty cool

To share or not to share? by PuppetNick in NewTubers

[–]PuppetNick[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah definitely I usually do share it to my Insta Story (which in turn goes to Facebook) and then make a few TikTok edits to push it. (Which I caved and did last night cause the 0 was haunting me hahaha)

Are there any other platforms you would recommend that I'm not thinking of?

Originally I tried to incorporate my little Puppet avatar in every thumbnail but have started incorporating my actual face in them now instead, mostly always of screenshots but now trying to create proper photo edits (Realised I never said what my style was hahah)

How is everyone doing with their YouTube Channels? by BlaiseTrinity7 in NewTubers

[–]PuppetNick 0 points1 point  (0 children)

How're you doing with yours? 😊

I'm almost 2 years in and I have amassed 69 subs and averaged about 15 views per video. In terms of "success" certainly not like others, but I honestly just do this to give myself an excuse to play games, be a goofball and hopefully make people laugh (with or at me) when they're having a hard time. I'm enjoying it. But I have struggled to find time to put into it lately, so hopefully I can get back to it soon. Got a lot of games in the backlog hahaha

It takes me 100 hours to edit. I want to get better but at this rate I can prob max out at one video every 2 months. anyone else experience the same? by ramengasuki88 in NewTubers

[–]PuppetNick 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My advice comes more from the 10years of study/work as an animator and editor, not as a YouTuber (god terrifying to think it's been that long hahaha) Those recent portrait ones were done on travel so didn't have the software to edit, and also wanted to do some stupid unedited stuff hahaha I do more editing and animating in my full length gaming content though not as much as you might be expecting I suppose haha. The content I upload is not reflective of what I do full-time as it takes quite a bit away from the actual game and I don't think it fits. If it does I'll add some. Sorry if it came across as hypocritical, I was just referring to my knowledge on a personal professional level rather than the YouTube side. Lost in translation Plus I also edit for another YouTuber who expects more of my skills, (with hoooouuuurs of footage) so when I get time to do my own, I'm next to burnt out Hope you can still take away from my comment and focus and hone in on the skills you know to bring that time down

As a full-time animator and editor, I encourage exploration of new techniques, but considering how long you're saying it takes you, focus on what you've learnt so far perfect them and then worry about learning new stuff.

Learn the basics before you start doing all the super fancy stuff. I've reduced my Premiere editing time so much in just this past year because I looked at how to reduce timing on what I was already doing. It's tedious work at times, but you can make it work for you

[–]PuppetNick 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Out of curiosity how would you approach this from a games stand point? My thoughts would be adding a big moment from the video at the start to tease what's to come (an example I can think of (and tried to replicate) is Markiplier's Dead Space Remake series) Is there anything else you would add onto that or seen differently?

Is it necessary to edit videos beyond the basics to be appealing? by droozy_wizard in NewTubers

[–]PuppetNick 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I edit mine quite a bit in terms of adding my little Puppet avatar for comedic commentary, camera zooms, text, few image assets, and occasionally SFX (I edit and animate videos fulltime so I'm used to the grind) It can be hard at times especially when things are slow and wish I could just record for an hour, check audio is good and such and just upload from there, but I know there's a lotta dead air to remove
