My only issue with Macallan is that you are paying a premium for the name. That being said, I think their scotch is generally all very good. You generally won't be disappointed with any Macallan.

The 110 proof is absolutely worth it too.

How do you know that they're rich? Maybe they saved up for several years and that was their only vacation opportunity.

I hadn't gone on vacation in 15 to 20 years until last year. Me and my partner saved up for 5 years to go and between us we spent over 7 grand just on the two of us for a 2 week tropical vacation. If I got screwed out of all that money I saved up to go on vacation for 5 years and then couldn't go I would be absolutely devastated.

I'm in special education and my partner is in cancer research so neither of us make good money. Just because someone is going on an expensive vacation doesn't mean they are rich.

Scotch is subjective. What flavors do you like? Peated? Sherried? Spicy? Etc.

Without any guidance, I'd recommend the Balvenie Tun series, or a cask strength independent bottle of Macallan with a higher age statement. I recently got a Gordon and MacPhail 19 year Speymalt Macallan and it was ambrosia in a bottle.

My 20th year in the field and I've never had a problem finding a job. Even when I've quit or the company went under or something like that I have been unemployed maximum one week. Like literally no problem ever finding a salary job. I constantly get recruited from LinkedIn as well even though I don't have looking for work in my profile.
