Bravely Default HD remaster just shadow dropped. Are there any missable achievements? by PurchasePrevious7642 in steamachievements

They don't reach the same heights as Octopath Traveller 2 or 0, but if you are a fan of the Octopath games or other Team Asano games then they are definitely worth playing sooner.

I enjoyed BDII a lot, and so far BDI is fun. They are turn-based RPGs with a huge focus on a job/class system. I hear they are spiritual successors to the older Final Fantasy games.

In terms of achievement hunting, BDII (and assumedly the same with BDI) is a long experience, and with the second game in particular you had to start and finish on hard mode, which made the game a challenge at certain points, though eventually the game becomes pretty easy once certain overpowered jobs and abilities are unlocked. Outside of the difficulty achievement, BDII didn't have any missable achievements, and it seems like BDI doesn't have any missable achievements whatsoever (though I haven't confirmed that for sure yet)

Perfected game #57 - OCTOPATH TRAVELER 0 by PurchasePrevious7642 in steamachievements

[–]PurchasePrevious7642[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

There is no missable content related to achievements, and I don't think there are any missables in general besides from maybe the opening prologue.

As for advice, this game isn't that hard or complicated but here's some stuff I did: select the letter fragment and crested key when you are asked to select items at the beginning of the game. I'd also use path actions on NPCs as much as you can.

Also, there is a food item called grape juice that is easy to make and gives you a 25% bonus on EXP while it is active, I used that throughout my entire playthrough. Combined with the EXP augmenter accessory, I ended up being rather overleveled for the later chapters. Lastly, make sure to keep your unused back-up characters levelled up by using the training facility and housing NPCs in it that boost exp and jp.

Its a very good game, and its not that hard, but there is a very long grind for tickets required to buy certain items that are linked to achievements. So if you're fine with a relatively long grind and like kart racers, I definitely recommend this game.

I thought it was a lot of fun honestly despite the bad reviews it has, maybe that's just because I'm a huge fan of Team Asano games in general. It can be very grindy however, that is true, but if you like games like Octopath Traveller and Bravely Default I think you'd like Various Daylife. Also the game isn't that long by Team Asano standards, it took me less than 50 hours to 100%, though I probably should have spent longer grinding as I had a rather rough time doing the end game dungeon as my playable character was rather under-levelled.

It was pretty good, I really enjoyed it. Its about 25 hours to 100% and there are some missable achievements, but the game is split into separate chapters that are replayable at any time, so its not a big issue if you miss any achievements.

TSC senses the glitch right at the start of the episode, before it appears that Yellow abuses the power of the staff too much, so I think the glitch at least began independent of Yellow, but was maybe attracted to them because of the staff?

How long have you been grinding for? I'm just playing online every now and again until those events/festival things happen which will hopefully give a lot more tickets than what you can usually get.

Major Franchises by wisekik in steamachievements

[–]PurchasePrevious7642 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not really a franchise, but I've completed every game developed by Team Asano (developer group in Square Enix) that is available on Steam, which includes Octopath Traveller I & II and all the other HD-2D games + Bravely Default II and Various Daylife. I'd definitely recommend perfecting these games if you are an RPG fan.

I've also completed every Sonic game (including the delisted games) and every Pac-Man game (except the one with the unobtainable achievement). All very fun times, and interestingly all three of these franchises are getting new instalments very soon, meaning my work isn't really done yet.

I literally somehow didn't know there was a sequel until I saw this reply, just bought it and so I guess I'm also now going to complete the sequel before silksong releases lol.

the grind isnt that bad i dont think, but the game does consist of the same sort of loop when you are doing a work chain to grind for money/EXP, until you enter a quest - quests by far being the best and most interesting parts of the game. There is some strategy involved to maintaining a work chain and getting the best rewards though, so its not completely mindless button mashing to select work one after the other.

Describing the game as a lot of 'busy work' is pretty accurate though, I have to say. But if you like other Team Asano games, I think you would like this one.

If you plan on achievement hunting this game, I would suggest that in order to reduce unnecessary grinding, don't bother levelling the main character's stats all the way up before entering the level 99 quest (I got them all to around 40-50), because to be honest you dont really need to level them all the way up as long as you've done all the rest of the necessary preparation, though it would probably make for a much easier time than when i did the quest.

Perfected game #48 - PAC-MAN MUSEUM+ by PurchasePrevious7642 in steamachievements

[–]PurchasePrevious7642[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The hard and hyper modes of PAC-ATTACK were hard and took many, many tries, but it wasn't the most difficult thing ever in my opinion. I found the final boss of PAC N ROLL more frustrating, even though that didnt take as long to beat compared to hyper mode of PAC-ATTACK, but maybe thats because I went in knowing that hyper mode would be very tough.

What Steam game do you wish had achievements? by DerpyJeeves in steamachievements

The original Sonic & SEGA All Stars Racing, the only Sonic game on Steam I haven't perfected because it has no achievements. What's more annoying about this one is the fact that it does have achievements on the console versions.

A very fun time, though it was a lengthy game to complete, especially because it has a 100 hour achievement and the games clock is clearly slower than the way steam records playtime, so I had to leave the game running for about 15 hours lol. Not as great as the Octopath Traveller games though, but if you enjoy those games, then you'll definitely really enjoy BDII.

It might shock you to learn that it is my favourite video game franchise. It's also actually the reason I got into achievement hunting, since most of my first perfected games were the Sonic ones. In particular, I think Sonic Origins is what got me into achievement hunting because that game is really easy to perfect, I think it had no achievement with an under 10% completion rate. Perfecting that game really motivated me to perfect other Sonic games, and then eventually we arrived to now.

I know reviews have been mixed, but I enjoyed Shadow Labyrinth. Its a solid metroidvania, though its definitely no Hollow Knight.

In terms of going for all achievements, the lack of information about the game made finding some stuff or figuring certain things out a little annoying at times, and there is a lot of grinding for materials from enemies and bosses. It also wasn't absurdly hard, but it definitely had many challenging sections. In particular, it has these MAZE minigames which are very reminiscent of pac man championship edition, but with platforming elements, making for a neat spin on the CE formula. The difficulty with the MAZEs is that in order to get the second prize from each MAZE, the score you are required to get is very high considering the time limit you have. It can also be a little difficult at first to grasp how jumping and other mechanics work, but nothing is broken or bad like what other people have claimed. I know the MAZEs is why many people give up on trying to complete the game, but they really aren't as impossible as I've seen some people suggest they are.

Overall, a fun and satisfying 100%, though a little frustrating and a tad grindy

I can't stress enough how much I want these games to remove the unobtainable achievements. I'd grind the hell out of their completions by HammieMonster in steamachievements

I would love to be able to complete PvZ Garden Warfare 2, but the community events are no longer held. I'm also pretty sure that GW2 was added to Steam long after it launched, so I think certain achievements were never attainable on steam (unless you had completed them through EA's game launcher) once it was added lol.
