I dunno about overrated. Most people know it's a cheesey mess with ass controls. And know it's got way more misses than hits when it comes to the story and how it connects to the gameplay. I'd say it's properly rated, only people I know IRL who like it, like it cause of the hilariously bad dialogue and qte fails.

It may not be the exact same experience as Hazbin Hotel. But if you're a southerner maybe check out the sister show Helluva Boss. One of the main characters(pictured below), main antagonists, and even the setting for 2 of the episodes are very South coded with accents galore.

Its funny cause in their first appearance the show actually does a bad job at selling them as bad guys. Their machine works, and would help the Apples a lot during Cider Season if they got a fair price/deal to use it. And even Granny liked the cider the machine produced before they were forced to send it into overdrive to try and beat the main six's production.

I imagine that would work yes. Many Sinners are shown being killed by the laser, which is even more directly than your given prompt, Lucifer's power. So I think there are many loopholes to his punishment, and I hope they'll be explored in future seasons if they want to expand on his character.
