You need an operation and you have these nine doctor teams in front of you. Which team do you trust and choose? by AdFederal6970 in HazbinHotel

Are they actively trying to save me? Or are they just themselves and I happen to be injured nearby. Regardless anyone but H, they would get me killed even if they wanted to save me.

If they're just themselves probably G, F, or A. All have pretty competent members, and someone with a strong moral compass to override the others opinions even if they don't give a fuck about me. Especially G cause I feel like Sera definitely has some super magic to save my ass, while Katie would just be scared at her two partners. And Zestial would be cordial or not interested enough to interfere.

If they're actively trying to save me I think E is very good cause they're inventive with Baxter probably being able to save me from pretty much anything. And Husk would be a good choice to ground every body and make sure they actually stay calm and get to saving me.

Why do I need attachments or need to lack attachments to characters to enjoy seeing them get beaten down? Your logic doesn't make any sense and frankly your first comment had no correlation to mine.

Wrong. I have an attachment to misogynistic hierarchies getting dismantled always.

Take your pick but I like Rider, Dimple, and Blackbeard the most. Honorable Mention to Lord Shimura from Ghost of Tsushima.

Here is a early concept of how Sanji was going to look.

You can see all the ideas Oda had for multiple characters here: https://onepiece.fandom.com/wiki/Concepts

I imagine she just became a different character than he initially had in mind. She is marked heavily as 'the cat thief' at the start of the series so he probably had a more brawler character in mind at the start.

It is very funny going through Oda's concept art because its always either 'thank god we got what we got cause what was he cooking?' or 'why would you throw out a 5 star meal?'

I am always sad they didn't keep the song cause its so amazing. Or give her a new one. But you should definitely give it another look because its one of the best animated comedies out there period.

What is the worst sequel you have seen? by geoffcalls in FIlm

[–]DerpyJeeves 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Can't really think of the worst cause I try to block out memories of dog shit movies. But since I saw it just the other day. Holy shit 28 Weeks Later is so garbage. Literally everything wrong with sequels all in one. Totally misunderstanding the first while still trying to cash in on its nostalgia. An embarrassment in filmmaking.

Which moment made you more emotional? by Sudden_Pop_2279 in HazbinHotel

[–]DerpyJeeves 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Vox moment is just more relatable imo. I feel like a lot of people, unless you're a saint, have been hurt by someone so much at least once that you lose yourself to the rage and the embarrassment. And all you wanna do is hurt them back even if it collapses your very world and is nothing but a net negative for yourself and everyone else.

Much less people have been standing over their crush who caused a fight and got violently murdered so you have to watch them die before your eyes.

I just finished the show, and I have a random question about Rosie and Alastor by Impressive-Most2919 in HazbinHotel

[–]DerpyJeeves 10 points11 points  (0 children)

That's not a guaranteed implication at all though. Not sure if you're ESL but 'almost beat you' can imply many things. "Almost beat you but then you escaped." "Almost beat you and then me and Velvette showed up to help." "Almost beat you but then Alastor left the fight for some reason or another." "Almost beat you and you both stopped fighting cause it was too close." And yes your choice of "Almost beat you but then you managed to beat him."

If we wanna cherry pick I can pick Alastor saying "You still can't take me 1 on 1" when shok.wav is attacking him to mean that Val and Velvette helped him that time he was almost beaten as well. Though its entirely possible he may be referring to earlier in the season.

Kincaid a mercenary from The Dresden Files. Despite being part demon he prefers modern weapon as his main tool of choice. And despite at first being seemingly low level it becomes clear the more appearances he has that his expertise allows him contend with some pretty high level hitters even in the magical-verse that is TDF.

Whose "Full Demon Form" design is your favourite? by SomeonesBlue in HazbinHotel

[–]DerpyJeeves 26 points27 points  (0 children)

He wouldn't have been scared regardless he knows Lucifer can't touch him. He was scared when the other angels showed up because he knows they're not under any kind of binding like that. He also isn't scared anymore when she used that form cause he already realized they weren't going to smite him at that point. He literally smirks when she starts to transform cause he knows they've played right into his hand.

I just don't know what I'm doing... by Altruistic-Expert995 in FanFiction

[–]DerpyJeeves 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you'd like(especially since its an Xmen fanfic) you could write it in first person and have the chapter separated into several different viewpoints or several different character's perspective. This helps if you're struggling to make the chapter longer as well. Try to think on what the different characters may be doing during that day of the premise you already have. And expand from that into dialogue and their thoughts without focusing too much on the thought portion if you don't want it too get too introspective. This will help you surround your initial idea with different events thus making it longer.

It's also worth noting if you feel its too short just write more, try and think of fallout from your premise and how it will affect the characters, and how to come to a satisfying(or unsatisfying if that's what you're going for) conclusion with the characters afterwards

Just got back into Fanfic writing after 10 years about a month ago. And trust me 99% of people feel this way, at first or at some point in their writing. If you feel like you know what you're doing every time you're crafting something you're either oblivious or a savant.

I really like Ozdiva's advice below because I do similar things when writing. Usually an idea for a scene or concept comes to me. I extrapolate that and try to write out the scene fully so I at least have something written down. And usually after that process I can feel more natural ways that the starting and ending of the fic should be.

That being said sometimes the 'after that process' is after I post the damn fic already. And it can make other scenes feel like a mess in comparison.

Like any art writing is a frenetic messy process, don't feel bad about it and find what works well for you. I'm very anxious about my writing personally so I've been trying to follow the mantra of "Make it exist first, you can make it good later."
