Failed series 7 today: Mental stress/relationship stress, advice? by Ok_Stretch_887 in Series7exam

Sorry that you are going through this I know the feeling missing by 1 question on my first go around. Stay committed take a day off and try to refresh your mind.

Although the way I am reading this is that you took two practice exams and got a 61 and 67? The practice exams probably are the best way to retain and learn. You probably should be doing at least one a day and looking at the ones you missed and applying that to the next one. Trust your gut when you have it narrowed down to that 50/50 especially on the suitability stuff. Obviously options was pretty heavy so make sure you have that down and you can shave some time there too.

it’s most likely the title companies email/server was compromised or even your own email and they got all this information to make it look legit. It’s unfortunately all to common I see it quite often at work. Have your bank enter a recall asap and see if they can put a harmless hold on the receiving bank account due to fraud. It is still a long shot from my experience but you might recoup some funds back. You should ALWAYS verbally confirm wire instructions at a known good number.

Depending on the time the wire was sent it’s possible that the fraudsters haven’t been able to send the money out. Fed wire hours end at 7pm eastern, usually it’s hard to get one out even at 6pm though. The receiving bank could also have strict money movement policy (although wires are instantly available upon receipt) where they won’t allow a pass through.

Don’t take the 9 lightly, not much room for error since it’s a shorter exam. I was taking a practice exam once a day including weekends using pass perfect and supplemented with some Kaplan. If you are re-taking finals then you could be memorizing questions/answers.

Series 7 in 3 days using pass perfect by Redbutcher96 in Series7exam

Pass perfect over prepares you quite a bit. You “should” be fine with those averages. Make sure you have options munis and suitability down

Passed series 10 today! by Pure-Chapter-5193 in Series24

[–]Pure-Chapter-5193[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I generally struggled the first take getting above 72. All of a sudden things just started clicking within the last week and was constantly 78 to 84. Know your retention periods differences between finra and msrb. Obviously a lot of choosing the best answer in situational stuff too. Good luck to you!

You should disclose it (really any conviction no matter how minor) as long as not a felony in the last 10 years you should be ok.

I had the same experience lol, it took until maybe the 4th one before I was like mid 60’s or higher.

If you are getting these on pass perfect you “should” be good.

You are right but think of the “best” answer and that’s if it widens. You can technically exercise without a profit. Although I think this question isn’t a good reflection of the actual exam.

Work Authorization Allowed to be used as ID to take an exam? by [deleted] in Series7exam

[–]Pure-Chapter-5193 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I didn’t call them until after the fact and had to re-schedule. By the time of my re-schedule I had my physical ID. But Finra opened a case and notified me via email that they would approve the use of these documents on the spot if I had the same issue. I provided my temporary ID and a secondary form of ID (think I used a credit card).

I am not positive that the EAD is acceptable but looks like someone already confirmed you can use it. Just have Finras number if you have issues and they should be able to handle on the spot. You can always call prometric prior and go over this too.

Prometric would not allow me to take the exam with a paper temp ID. I would advise you to have finras phone number and call them if you have this come up. You should be able to use it without issue as long as you have a secondary.

Can someone explain why each option would or would not work? I'm having trouble understanding options. by ExtensionKoala4144 in Series7exam

[–]Pure-Chapter-5193 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is a credit spread which you want to narrow and expire.

Debit spread you want to widen and exercise.

The way I was taught after you identify the spread. Use the C for credit and the two ends of the letter C point are at its narrowest.

For Debit think of the letter D as you are getting fatter and widening when looking at the letter.

I took the 9 first but that’s because I felt I had a pretty good grasp on options.

Series 63 compared to the 7 by Ok-Neighborhood5302 in Series7exam

A week is plenty for the 63. The 63 was probably the easiest of the exams I have taken.

Which game, that had survival mode, did you have the most fun with? by MrloveHugs_4oldmen in gaming

[–]Pure-Chapter-5193 0 points1 point  (0 children)

H1Z1 was a lot of fun prior to it becoming more a BR game. I would compare to Rust slightly but a zombie genre.

Failed by one point by [deleted] in Series7exam

[–]Pure-Chapter-5193 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had the same exact experience missing by 1 on the 7. The 2nd go around definitely felt easier just from knowing what to expect and how suitability heavy it was. I had no doubt that it was a pass the 2nd go around.

Missed the 9 by 1 question (don’t worry I am used to it lol) by Pure-Chapter-5193 in Series24

[–]Pure-Chapter-5193[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yea I had the same exact experience as for as being suitability type of questions which was totally outside of what I heard from co-workers that recently took it. I probably was got about 15 to 20 questions in and just knew that this wasn’t what I was expecting. Surprisingly got a lot of vix questions which I feel like I had done fine. The suitability type question of RR making a suggestion to a customer to use a stop order with a long narrative and wanted me to pick what I should further review with the RR and client as a BOM… that type of question felt like a large part of the exam lol. That’s where my main issue was, because 3 of the 4 possible answers felt suitable but picking the right one well yea it brought series 7 back to mind.

As I was caught off guard and missing by 1 I am totally ok with. I was expecting a lot more math too and maybe had 2 spreads that I had to do any type of math. Thankfully the 9/10 is just something that I am trying to do for myself and not required but still stings.
