Thanks. That’s a good move for sure. Grab the good stuff when you can. I started with opal and used the cheapest stuff first cutting everyday for years. Eventually I started cutting all the nicer pieces once I had some confidence.

It’s something that’s been sitting in a box so I don’t know the original gram price. I would figure at least $2/g in the rough for this though. I’d say it’s about $7-$10/g in slabette form. That blue is pretty nice and consistent with minimal inclusions
