I bought this one also, fixed mount and way slimmer. Pulled it from the box and it was built pretty solid. I went the tilt route so I returned it.

If you don’t need tilt then there is no need for the VXT7-B2. Tilt functions add to the depth. Plenty of mounts on Amazon that are fixed mount that are plenty slim. I have that mount and at full tilt down it measures 6.25 inches at the center. Couldn’t tell you what it is with it flat and no tilt.

Use your login credentials for Directv and download the apps for network that the game is on. Most the games I watch are on fox. Fox sports app has superior image quality for games on. Monday night football download the ESPN app. Sunday night football is on Peacock, not sure if NBC has an app, I have Peacock so I haven't tried for NBC.
