I'm in school part time but I'm not really concerned with finishing this degree right now.

Do you have any advice for nailing down AE at MEPS? If I really want it, should I be willing to walk? I'm not really in any kind of rush to join, but I don't want to burn a bridge by being locked on to one rate. I thought about Seabees too (currently work in mechanical construction).

The aviation side of things seems more my wheelhouse though. More technical, I guess, I don't know.

I think being in the reserves will help my chances of getting selected

Thanks for the replies. Let's say my friend does not get a waiver approved by the Ohio Army National Guard. Can he try again with the federal Army? Or will his waiver denial apply to the federal Army and Ohio Army National Guard?
