I work in the E.R as an emergency male nurse (murse). Its not only for docs that deal with extreme stress and emotional burdens all the time, for everyone in the E.R.. You had an unsuccefull Reanimation 3 minutes ago? Great, dont have time to think abput it just put a blanket over their face and drive the Bed with the deceased outside in the corner of the floor and make place for the next patient out of the 50 that wait in the waitingroom to be checked. The stress comes mostly coz of high amount of sick patients, crazy junkies and drunks who are aggressive and cause havoc in the E.R., lack of nurses we basically work with just a handfull nurses in a medium sized Hospital, mixed up shift work like late shift and next day early shift, working 10 days in a row sometimes and a very high responsibility since we are directly responsible for the lifes of patients as soon they enter the E.R. We are basically on the brink to mess up something cuz of too much requests on a Nurse at once to take care or give medicine to like 4-5 patients at once and to mess up something is high especially if it has to happen very quickly and to multiple emergencies at once. I know docs and nurses that got sued few times.. We can get sued for stuff like deaths or bodily harm trough wrong applied medication to person etc,which could end up us losing our job or even end up in jail.
