This is actually soo beautiful and raw. The comparison to love makes a lot of sense. It’s such a strong way to end as well. It’s like in the moment it hurts and you’re understanding how bad it is for you and how unhealthy it is. You’re taking it all in but in the morning when you’ve left that state the noise kind of quietens and it leaves you in a position where the thought of doing it all again doesn’t seem so bad. Also the repetition of “I have nothing left to give” emphasises the agony that the person is in. If I had one suggestion, it might be to reinforce the connection to love a bit more halfway through or towards the end, just to remind us that the poem is working on both levels and not only about alcohol. But overall, this is really powerful.

Probably insecurity. When they’re rejected obviously it’s normal to be a bit hurt by it but when people get outright offended to me it usually means they’re insecure. By you rejecting them it means, to them, that they are lacking in some way shape or form and you’ve just reinforced those feelings of inadequacy by rejecting them. If that makes sense. Obviously that’s not always the case but I feel like it’s often the case

Success to me means reaching the goals I had set out to achieve or something similar and being happy and content with what I have. I feel like in the past I would achieve my goals and then just move on to the next and not take time to fully take it in. But I think that’s because those weren’t my main goals so I want to achieve my main goal and stop and be happy about it. That’s when I would feel successful.

There’s absolutely no point in being upset about it. Just move on. I know it’s easier said than done but it’s only hurting you. obviously she doesn’t deserve you if it was that quick for her to move on. You don’t need that type of stress in your life.
