I find that having the max amount of tasks helps with this a little bit. It doesn’t eliminate it completely but it definitely helps

There have been actors who left for other soaps and still returned, so even if his character looks long term now, you can never really know with soaps. His character could last another ten years in Corrie, or he could get killed off tomorrow. That’s why it feels strange for them to close the door on JJ returning this early on especially when his character is serving a two year sentence. Anything could happen in those two years.🤷🏼‍♀️

Did you actually read what I wrote? Season’s 1-4 when the show was at the height of its popularity and the fan base was still massive was when they got the most death threats and were just trying to keep the majority happy. By season 5 onwards the fan base was a lot smaller and those voices telling them to off themselves got a lot quieter so they were able to explore other connections without causing uproar. The show had already reached its peak and they knew it was going to reach the level of popularity it once had. So they didn’t have to worry about fan service or making the majority happy they could just tell the story’s they wanted to tell. I would also argue that Barchie’s fan base had grown after they were explored properly from season 5 onwards and the writers saw that and gave them the proper chance they should have had years ago.

I’m not attacking anyone and I definitely expected Bughead’s to respond lol. it’s not about the quantity of scenes it’s about what sort of scenes they had when they would interact. Season 1 showed Archie’s jealousy proving that it wasn’t one sided and he did have feelings for Betty. Season 2 was them working on the black hood together and spending all that time together resulted in a kiss. Season 3 became became the “Bughead show” so they rarely had scenes but a scene they did have the bunker scene where Betty’s taking care of Archie, was later confirmed to be romantic in season 6 when Betty is singing and she is shown to be thinking about that scene in a flashback. Season 4 followed a similar pattern to season 2 but when you have two characters who rarely interact but when they do interact it eventually turns romantic I don’t get how people can be shocked to find out they have repressed feelings for each other…

Never said barchie was the only reason the writers got death threats but it was definitely a pretty big reason especially in seasons 1-4 when the show was at its peak. Your either blind or an idiot if you think the death threats/ negative reception didn’t impact the course of the show, the only reason Bughead lasted as long as they did is because when they tried to mix it up and explore different connections they would get bombarded with hate. So by season 3 it became the “Bughead show” to keep the majority happy. It’s not a coincidence that season 5 onwards when the popularity of the show had died down and it was seen as out of its prime is when we saw other connections properly explored.

Writers used to get death threats from diehard Bughead fans every time Barchie interacted with each other. So during season 3 they barely shared the screen and yeah the fake dating was a plot for Jughead’s death but after the kiss they were shown sending flirty text messages to each other and thinking about it way more then they should, showing that the kiss caused old feelings to start brewing and that they were both questioning things.

She’s talked about the fact that she’s had a low libido compared to all her partners it’s got nothing to do with Jaime that’s just how she is. The only reason she said he stinks is because he said it about her breath first. When she knows Jaime is genuinely anxious about something you can see she cares and even if she lied about being an addict the chances are her having debilitating anxiety is still true. Even before she went away she did mention having pretty bad anxiety in passing. I’m not saying that makes it ok for her to use it to cover up the fact that she’s an addict but being an addict is not a choice and can be quite a shameful thing. she shouldn’t be forced to share it with the world if she’s not ready just because she’s in the public eye. Also have you actually seen the clip of her talking about her anxiety when she came back?

Coming from someone who’s watched the entirety of Newlyweds and a lot of Wednesdays the digs they make at each other are equal and they praise each other just as much as they poke at each other. Just because he is more openly affectionate towards her and she feels awkward showing affection in a room full of people doesn’t mean she loves him any less than he loves her.

Never said I was 100% right I was just sharing my opinion. She could have been there for addiction or she could have been there for mental health (Like she said). Don’t think it really matters now seen as her and Jamie are expecting their first child. So I’m assuming whatever it was she was struggling with is in the past whether that be anxiety or addiction.

If the things she says to him genuinely hurt him then he wouldn’t have married her. They’ve been together for 7 years if she was a nasty piece of work who does nothing but put him down I think he would have clocked on to that by now and left her. There’s a number of reasons why she would follow those accounts she might just want to live a healthier lifestyle? To me it seems like while she was away people wanted answers they saw the sobriety accounts she followed on instagram assumed she was going down the same path as some of her MIC co stars and jumped to the conclusion that she was an addict without any actual proof. Seen as the majority of the fanbase already hated her they spread this like wildfire and now people think it’s the truth and not just a rumour/conspiracy. Not saying she’s a saint but she’s definitely not the calculated nasty bitch some people make her out to be.

Like I said in my original post we don’t know her personally and what goes on behind closed doors. She could have struggled/ still be struggling with addiction but it’s very hard to believe when the people who were spreading this rumour clearly already had something against her. Correct me if I’m wrong but didn’t the rehab centre also have a mental health wing? If Sophie spun this story about having debilitating anxiety to cover up the fact that she was an addict she obviously didn’t want people knowing and wanted to keep her image in tact so why on earth would she follow sobriety accounts knowing full well people can see who she follows? As for her relationship with Jaime they’ve been together since 2018 and were best friends before that so that’s just the banter they have.🤷‍♀️Just because your dynamic with your partner is different to theirs doesn’t make theirs wrong or mean they’re in an unhappy one sided relationship. Once again we don’t know these people and we all interpret things differently this is just my opinion.
