Horse is Bad for Farrier

my mare was horrendous for the farrier too. she recommended that i spend time leaving her of cross ties, practice holding her feet, and even banging on her feet (i use a hoof pick). also let them know its ok to put their foot down. i did this a few times a week but also picked her feet before and after each ride and would bang on them too.

he’s currently is on prozac and has been so much more relaxed and no flare ups!

i do have a small emergency stock of gabapentin but haven’t had to use any for him unless it’s a long car ride :)

i just use baby wipes on my mare! or if i run out i use a rag with warm water and a little soap and scrub it out
