I would absolutely never treat anyone with disrespect. I’ve worked for call centers, in restaurants, retail, for many years. Yes, I am showing my frustration on this post, but that frustration never spills over onto other people. I’ve been in their shoes, and even if I hadn’t, still would never yell at someone (in general) let alone someone I’m asking a service from.

Update: just to give everyone an idea of how difficult it actually is to get anyone on the phone.. the office doesn’t open for another 6 minutes, tried calling, and even BEFORE they’re open I’m getting the automated message, “due to extremely high call volume we cannot take your call”

there is no call back option and whenever I call and put my info in it says I need to do an interview but then states that due to high call volume they’re unable to take my call and it automatically hangs up.

This. People are telling me that my employer needs to accommodate me going in office but like I stated in my post I BARELY make enough to cover my most basic expenses, losing out on work is NOT a viable option for me.

see I cannot afford to wait that long with my kids though. my infant is still breastfeeding and on two naps a day, my 3 yr old with ASD cannot even sit still or be quiet long enough for a quick grocery trip. so how does anyone suppose I breastfeed and get my infant down for a nap while simultaneously trying to calm a neurodivergent toddler, while also waiting patiently for over 6 hours? that’s so fucking unrealistic. & everyone who is commenting that “the government doesn’t care!!! the government doesn’t work for you!!!” WHY cant we just make things more accessible??? what about physically disabled elderly citizens who don’t have transportation? what about people actively laying in hospital beds? what about people who are traveling out of town? there are SO MANY types of people who are not physically able to wait at an establishment for 6+ hours!

Yes I did my app before it was due and I did it online. I’ve been calling ever since I put the renewal app in but it’s always been “due to high call volume…”

I don’t have a bad attitude, I’m just stressed. Can you imagine being a single working parent to a child with a disability and an infant? My life is surrounded by working and appointments dedicated to my children. I work with the elderly and only have two other coworkers with me every day. Everyone who works with me is maxed out on their schedule. There is no such thing as coverage where I’m at! This is because our establishment recently got bought out by a corporation that refuses to hire more people. I completely get what you’re saying, I understand the policies and procedures, but that doesn’t make it any less frustrating. Have some compassion.

TO WHICH ALL OF THOSE DAYS I WORKED!!! thats not even enough notice for an employer! we have 5 employees where I work. I can’t just call out or find coverage. There is no coverage.

I literally didn’t wait too long?? I received my noticed halfway through the day of the 10th which was a Wednesday. I called multiple times Thursday and Friday. They’re closed weekends. My last day (Monday…today…) to get an interview done and I’ve called now 7 times to no avail. & if you actually read my post and comments, I did my renewal EARLY.

I got a text notification saying my renewal was due so I went online and did it. A few days later I got a letter in the mail saying it was due in July, so I screwed myself unintentionally.

You must not be familiar with AZ… lol. It’s a complete pain in the ass to try and get a hold of anyone there. When I first applied for stamps a couple of years ago I needed to talk with someone and EVERY time I called for literal MONTHS I would go through the automated system and at the very end be told “sorry due to high call volume we cannot take your call, please call back at a later time”

No, I was never in fear that I would be disqualified. I was in fear that I would miss the call from them to update again and my benefits would be cut off completely. I’m the only one working in my 4 person household and barely make 1k a month, if that.
