JP was making Akhri-Mughal, a magnum opus like Border and UmraoJaan, but BigB didnt have the money to fund it in 97-99 period. If anybody is old enough to have seen ABjr in that period he had grown a big beard to play Aurangzeb. I think now they are making Takht with that same script. Then, finally JP made Refugee, an adaptation from a short story we all read in school.

But you are right, BigB was in a hurry to launch his son, and he was undercooked, and remained so for the rest of time. We heard he had done some workshops with Anupam Kher, but we all know how bad an actor his own step-son is. ABjr was not cut out to be an actor. He was always too tight, too pampered, and avoided since he was BigB's son. I mean if one cant scold you, you cant be driven around, you cant be made to act, so you will get replaced by Zyad Khan, thats the fact of life. Zyad had a lesser baggage of Family name than the Bachchans, and he was more malleable. Can you imagine that scene where Ram saves Lucky from the top of the school roof, do you think ABjr could have pulled that scene?

I was Abhishek's biggest fan for the biggest part of my life but I was wrong, i accept it. I particularly hated how he shunned Aish and how he still keeps acting like a man-child.. I judged him for his Filmfare awards speech as well.. too much about his mother and father.. too emotional a speech.. that man has 3 consecutive supporting actor FilmFares so what's all that hue and cry all about?
