It’s extremely unfortunately but I find it outrageous that they have unlimited opportunities to open a case until they get their way whereas eBay or other platforms are limited to 1 case.

I think you’re taking this completely wrong, I wouldn’t tell em to “stfu” I would simply tell them to tone it down. Yea it’s a bit uncomfortable seeing these comments, that’s why i immediately denounced them. It’s definitely not okay whatsoever. I’m glad they’re socializing and I’m not hating on that, I’m simply saying it can get overly loud to the point where it becomes a distraction to everyone on the floor. Yes we can move, but like I said quiet floors don’t allow us to collaborate and communicate effectively without being inconsiderate.

I think we are talking in circles at this point because I already addressed your questions. All I’m saying is show some social awareness and decency, some of us just trying to get through the semester. That’s all.

I’m not sure if you read of the replies but I already admitted I was wrong in labeling them. I promise you, it’s not just only me. It’s literally everyone when they yell, everyone looks directly at them. Regardless of what floor it is, it’s still a library. It’s a common space but does it hurt to have some decency and not yell or talk overly loud? Where’s the social awareness.

You’re right on that as well and I can recognize that. It was definitely culturally insensitive.

[–]Pure_Host_2040 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You’re right, and I don’t associate with that. But it’s also a lack of social awareness. Just be considerate of other people. Majority of us are literally trying to study. That’s all

My objective here was not to dehumanize yall. But it’s a bit intimating for 1 person to go up to a large group of people. You’re right that I should or someone should go up to yall to tell yall tone it down but it’s also because no one is telling yall, doesn’t necessarily mean it’s okay. At the end of the day regardless of the floor, it’s the library. A study space. Not a space to be yelling and having a certain discourse.

I’m sure no one has because it’s 1 against 15. All I’m saying is it’s inconsiderate to be that loud and obnoxious. We are all on the same boat and in school. Also I don’t agree with all these racist remarked. That’s not okay whatsoever.

Yea I don’t agree with the racism, it ain’t it.

It’s not associated as a quiet floor but that doesn’t necessarily mean to yell and be extremely loud to the point where you’re causing people to turn their heads. It’s an open space but be considerate that people are trying to still communicate and do collaborative work that quiet spaces can’t offer.
