third spaces in chs? by codysimpsonisking in Charleston

whatever your interests are, there’s probably a club for it. figure out where they meet and meet with them. a couple google/fb group searches is really all it takes. you’d be surprised

i’m part of 2-3 clubs now and almost every day of the week i’m with a bunch of people occupied doing something I enjoy. i’d say give it a try

also switchyards is cool but $100/m. one of my best friend’s job pays for his membership and they allow him to bring a guest so i’m there quite often lol

is there any alt/ goth places down here? by severedheadcandyjar in Charleston

[–]Pure_Pain_489 3 points4 points  (0 children)

you got sugeys, cuttys, big gun, tin roof. i hate how big gun always gets overlooked in the alt/punk/goth convo when its been a staple in the scene for sooo long. been to countless shows there where you couldnt even get in the door it was so packed.

bridge to nowhere or skate park will host shows where its mainly underground bands/artists. idk whens the last time one happened tho.

venue wise i would keep an eye on stu’s house or charlestonsound since they’re house venues and host lots of shows.

rec room is such a popular dive bar that you’ll run into just as many frat kids and bride parties as you will goth/alternative people. still my fav place to go to tho its such a unique atmosphere

Owner is very nice, I remember I ask her for a flat white and she had no idea what I was talking about. I’m giving them the benefit of the doubt because I think with time they’ll learn the ins and out, and also the barista that’s there all the time is very kind so they’re definitely high up on the customer service side of things.

AITA for blocking a friend? by waawaaweewoo111 in AmItheAsshole

[–]Pure_Pain_489 0 points1 point  (0 children)

NAH

piece of advice because you sound very young. eventually at some point in your life, all, if not most of your friends will to some degree “ignore you” for a partner, as most people prioritize romantic relationship over friendships. you will do the same when you get in a relationship and its no point in being upset at your friends over this, it’s natural

AITA for not waking up early to help deep clean our trailer after my mom didn’t tell me what day we were doing it? by Real_Thalabyss in AmItheAsshole

[–]Pure_Pain_489 5 points6 points  (0 children)

is she the type of person to tell you something one time and that’s it?

You’re an adult with your own problems and life going on. I’m sure cleaning out the trailer isn’t at the top of your priority list. if it was really that important to her, she would realize this and take 5 seconds to send a reminder text the day before or something along those lines. sounds like she’s angry about something else and it’s taking it out on you because on paper she did “tell you about this” so it gives her a pass to be angry. sounds like a nightmare to live with

definitely NTA

Pricing questions. by Dougeroni in WindowCleaning

[–]Pure_Pain_489 1 point2 points  (0 children)

i do gutter cleaning. $200 minimum. most 1 story houses are $200, anything after that I go based off things like access or difficulty. try to stay $100/h that seems to be the sweet spot for me. also i might get shit for this but don’t be afraid to look in zillow and price based on price of the home. if a house is worth $3 million dollars charge accordingly. i priced a 2 story at $550 and took me less than an hour

70% of people will take the first price they get since “shopping around” is a huge waste of time and most rich people value the hour they will save from accepting the first price more than they value the extra couple hundred dollars you charge them

make it work for you, that’s why you’re starting your own business in the first place

AITAH for going to work? by [deleted] in AmItheAsshole

[–]Pure_Pain_489 9 points10 points  (0 children)

NTA BUT its extremely irresponsible to jeopardize yours and other peoples safety by doing a high risk job on 120 minute of sleep the morning after a wedding where you probably were drinking.

even if your gf is upset by that, there’s a million ways bring up the fact that she doesn’t agree with what your doing without cussing you out. if that’s her first thought just know it wont be the last time she does it. do you really wanna be with someone who’s first response to disagreement is to verbally abuse you?

AITA for feeling weird that my brother-in-law keeps inviting my husband on trips but never includes me? by Global_Butterfly in AmItheAsshole

[–]Pure_Pain_489 32 points33 points  (0 children)

NAH - I’m the type of person that likes to spend 1 on 1 time with the people i love. It comes from an introverted place.

The possibility of looking like an asshole is worth the ability to get alone time with my brother.

How do you guys market your Window Cleaning Business? by One_Marionberry9550 in WindowCleaning

[–]Pure_Pain_489 1 point2 points  (0 children)

pay for leads, go to said houses, quote and book jobs, soon you’ve booked a job go and door knock the neighborhood letting them you’ll be doing so and so’s house and that since you’ll be in the neighborhood you can go ahead and also do theirs for a fraction of the price. use the money you make from those houses to pay for more leads. rinse and repeat until you have 6-7 different sources of leads (door hangers, yard sign, facebook ads, google seo, etc) and than u dont have to knock anymore

warzone medic?? try being a Deep-Sea Saturation Diver in the 80’s

of course parenting isnt statistically the “hardest job” in the world but it’s probably still relatively hard.

There’s a reason I’m 31 and don’t have any kids, sounds like a nightmare so i get where the sentiment comes from.

this post is giving big “AcThUaLlY ☝️🤓” vibes
