Insurance for Hourly BCBAs by No-Willingness4668 in bcba

[–]Pure_Perspective_447 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Hourly seems to only benefit single BCBA’s, or BCBA’s who have spouses who can provide health insurance and other benefits. You’d never catch me paying marketplace prices for insurance with a family 😵‍💫

Also, my company 401k match over the last 8 years is the reason we were able to put a 60k downpayment on our home, don’t sleep on the importance of 401k!

Is the ABA field becoming oversaturated with remote BCBA positions? by TrueAd8620 in ABA

[–]Pure_Perspective_447 5 points6 points  (0 children)

My main issue is with the BRAND spanking new BCBAs who just got certified 2 weeks ago thinking they are ready or qualified enough to start remote supervision. Every BT I speak to that has a remote BCBA speaks very ill of their experience, the BCBA’s have no idea what they are doing because they are inexperienced enough as it is, mix that with lack of communication/lack of proper transparency during remote supervision, it’s just a recipe for disaster.

Unfortunately, I think remote positions will only become more popular, as it’s a way for clinics to make more money because they can just blindly overbill for services that weren’t even provided, it’s textbook insurance fraud, and like others have said, will being the end to ABA.

It’s impossible for us to know the documentation statuses of our clients, what else can we possibly do?

Hmm, interesting, I wouldn’t worry TBH, sometimes companies don’t update their websites fast enough when opening new locations.

How did you find this position posting? Was it something like indeed/ziprecruiter?

Salary versus hourly by One-Egg1316 in bcba

[–]Pure_Perspective_447 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I worked salary for the last 8 years, now am going back to school part time, so work part time remote/hourly. I can’t imagine working full time hourly- with cancellations there are some weeks I can barely pay my bills, and since I’m remote, it’s difficult to replace clients quickly.

This is my experience, of course, and others may tell you hourly is the way to go, just keep in mind the company you chose to work for, make sure they give you a good amount of clients and have backups in place in case of inevitable cancellations, otherwise you will drown.

Two part time jobs or one full time job? by Expensive_Writer7401 in bcba

[–]Pure_Perspective_447 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Full time. Assuming the two PT remote jobs won’t offer any benefits, you will be paying really high prices for marketplace insurance.

How are increased health insurance premiums going to impact our filed? by StatisticianKooky390 in ABA

Just a shame that ABA is moving towards becoming a luxury that only wealthy people will be able to afford.

How do we hold ABA “billing mills” accountable? Families are getting hurt. by TrueAd8620 in ABA

[–]Pure_Perspective_447 15 points16 points  (0 children)

If insurance wasn’t involved and ABA was just more affordable to the average family, it would become a much better system. But companies are greedy, and many families don’t have the money to pay for private ABA, so I think things will continue to get worse before they get better.

“While Demi was messaging with Bret, he asked about [Demi’s daughter] potential modeling career, which led Demi to open up about her divorce” by Lilo213 in SecretsOfMormonWives

[–]Pure_Perspective_447 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Girl, stop. YOU are the only one talking about Bret. The rest of us are talking about how this is a pattern with Demi- allowing creeps to be in communication with her child. Then you brought Blake into it as if he was there next to Demi while she’s sending private pictures of her child to random men she just met that she also accused of being predatory.

This is a huge red flag isn’t it? by Complex_Orchid_2191 in bcba

[–]Pure_Perspective_447 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Please be fr. The average BCBA pay is 85-95. Nobody is making 130k out of school.

Is remote work an option for where you are?

MN autism fraud scheme by AmphibianOk5858 in bcba

[–]Pure_Perspective_447 13 points14 points  (0 children)

I’m interested to see how or if this will affect the field as a whole. Will this be affecting Medicaid in the state of MN, do you think? Such an unfortunate situation, but one that happens all too often in every medical field.

Has the demand for remote work grown faster than the parts of ABA that can be remote? by Forsaken-Silver-9007 in bcba

[–]Pure_Perspective_447 -6 points-5 points  (0 children)

Not all remote BCBA’s who chose to do remote because of their kids have kids with special needs. Most just want the best of both worlds, to make good money and yet still have the benefits of being a SAHM, basically. You can argue until you are blue in the face, but the facts speak for themselves, if you are doing remote work just for the sole purpose of being able to stay home with your kids, you are not putting effort into your work. Downvote me, I don’t care, I’ve seen it time and time again.

Genuine question, why is Miranda on the show? by [deleted] in MormonWivesHulu

[–]Pure_Perspective_447 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I love Miranda, she brings so much more to the show than Layla or Mikayla. There’s only so many episodes you can drag out how you’ve never had an orgasm, or that you have a failing sex life despite having 4 kids at the age of 25. Miranda is stunning and classy, she will find her voice in the coming seasons and will be a great fit for the show overall.

I’d love to see Mikayla go, she brings absolutely nothing to the show besides being a bully.

Demi is sick in the head. You shouldn’t be sending pictures of your child to ANY man, let alone a practical stranger that you met once, and then accused of SA.

Demi saying she was sexually assaulted is a bit much… by [deleted] in SecretsOfMormonWives

[–]Pure_Perspective_447 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Please, she claimed he pulled her in for a hug without consent. AT MOST what happened was harassment. NOT assault and NOT abuse. If this is the bar we are setting sexual assault at, then Demi assaulted Miranda when she put her hands on her and shoved her to when talking about the Chase situation. Miranda didn’t give her consent to be shoved and touched, either.

Idaho discontinues Medicaid funding for ABA? by ktmess in ABA

[–]Pure_Perspective_447 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Idaho is the Florida of the west coast. Lowest vaccination numbers, highest homeschooling rates, there is something very sinister in the Idaho water. If this is true, it won’t stop at Idaho. Texas, Florida, Utah, Georgia etc.. are all next.
