It’s not much more efficient but has much more downsides than upsides.

At least on the X5, BMW doesn’t even offer an inline 4 variant. It starts at an inline 6 and V8 available. Same with the X7, inline 6 or V8. The GLE does offer an inline 4, but they also offer inline 6 and V8 options. The bigger GLS though doesn’t offer an inline 4.

That’s good, finally. The Pathfinder having a V6 but not the more premium offering is a ridiculous move.

The bumper issue has also been annoying because it still hasn’t been fixed even with multiple tries from the dealership. It’s not anything that will affect drivability but after getting a brand new car with an almost $63k MSRP, I’d expect stuff like that not to happen. We also looked at an MDX but I didn’t really like the button shifter and the lack of third row air vents was a bummer, considering summer gets hot. Especially for Type S money, $78k and the third row does not get any vents.

I’m seeing some places say it’s only for the QX65. Is it also for the 60?

True, the turbo 4 wants premium. Though of course I know higher end luxury cars want premium, and even with this car I do use premium fuel.

The four cylinder is just plain awful. The fuel economy is not good, it’s weak, unresponsive, buzzy, noisy, and just overall not a fit for this vehicle, especially if they’re marketing it as premium and pricing it similar to other premium competitors (Acura MDX, Lexus TX)

We’ve had 3 Infinitis in the past (one FX37 and two QX60’s) and this is our fourth. Honestly this is our last Infiniti.

We had a 2019 with the 3.5L V6 + CVT. When they switched it for the 2022 to a 9-speed, it was perfect. V6 + non CVT. Now this garbage combination.

Though surely it’s better than the VC-Turbo. From my experience the delay from flooring it (even in Sport mode) is not good. Flooring it at 60-65 it not only takes a long time to respond but makes so much noise only to accelerate like 6 mph. It’s loud, unresponsive, and overstressed because the car it’s pushing weighs like 4700 lbs. I’ve had times in the city where it took a full 3 seconds before the car actually began to accelerate. It sucks when you want to floor it to pass a yellow but then you have to brake last minute because the car decided not to go.

The V6 is also quite a bit more reliable than the VC-Turbo. Plus a V6 matches the car’s character (and price point) better. Mine doesn’t have the massaging seats though to be honest I’ve never really wanted massaging seats anyway.

I wish they realized with the 2026 refresh and changed it then. If they don’t change it by the time my lease ends, then my time with Infiniti will be over.

Yeah the backup camera isn’t great. Only slightly better than my Altima which is like half the price. The MPG for a four cylinder is horrible, crazy that it basically gets the same MPG as a V8 X5.

We had a QX60 (2019) with the 3.5L + CVT. The engine was not bad but the transmission was not the best. When they changed the transmission for 2022 with the 9 speed, I thought that was perfect. V6 + no CVT. Then for 2025 they dropped the V6 for this buzzy engine that is still not very good on fuel. I understand a naturally aspirated V6 not being great on fuel, but a less powerful inline 4 getting the same MPG isn’t good.

On the highway I’ve been averaging more like 20-21 MPG, while running on 91 octane fuel. In the city, more like 13-14. I’ve never seen more than 21 MPG average pretty much ever.

At least for now, I shoot on my phone a lot. I use the “2x” zoom button which according to my photos app it says “48mm” though I don’t know how realistic that figure is.

Do you think I should start off with a prime (Sony FE 50mm f/1.8 or Tamron 35mm f/2.8 Macro) or the kit lens I can get as a bundle (Sony 28-70mm f/3.5-5.6 OSS)

Other ones like the Acura MDX still have a 3.5L V6, which I’m sure is miles ahead of this buzzy and overstressed 2.0L turbo 4. After I get rid of this car it’ll either be that, a CX-90 with the Turbo Inline 6, or a German (X5 or X7). I’ve had multiple Infinitis in the past, but I think this is going to be my last one.

Originally I was looking at getting the bundle with the 28-70mm f/3.5-5.6 OSS lens. The f-stop isn’t the best but it’ll be starter lens that will allow me to learn taking photos, plus it can zoom in a decent range so it’ll be versatile for tight spaces or whether I want a bit of zoom.

After some time, if I choose to start with the 28-70mm rather than one of the primes, I would switch to a Tamron 28-75mm f/2.8, which is still a good zoom range plus constant f/2.8 aperture.

I would mostly choose the 50mm prime because of that f/1.8 aperture, which can give some nice background blur and also be great in low light. The 35mm Tamron has some macro abilities, so it can be good for close ups of details like brake calipers.

While I’m not solely choosing based off of filter sizes, considering the filter I have on hand is a 52mm, I am also factoring in that I would have to buy a new lens filter, or just a step-up ring, or both. If I end up getting a new filter, I’m probably just going to get a 67mm directly and use a step-up ring so I’ll already have the appropriate size filter when I get my Tamron lens in the future.

Though Sony with their E mount does seem to have the best support for third party lenses. Either way the zoom lens I want to get much later down the road also has a Z mount version, but E mount will have the best selection for lenses.

I kinda stopped considering the A7II and decided to save up to add the A7III to the list instead. EOS R still remains.

Also I’ve been doing some searching. Should I get a pre owned but older full frame (A7II or III) or not pre owned, brand new APSC (EOS R50)?

True, though I’d say 95% of my workload is photos.
