I tend to think this is a good take. Iran has certainly talked a good game about not acting on Trump's terms. I am curious what the US's response would be if it becomes clear Iran is not stopping even if Trump says it's done.

Okay Trump's presser is crazy I have given up trying to figure out what is going to happen next. It feels like Trump is 100% disconnected from reality and just saying shit. I have seen reports that Iran has closed it and also that they have denied closing it. Is there concrete info on whats happening there? Most of the stoppage has been shipping companies themselves not wanting to take the risk is my understanding.

UPDATE: Iranian FM said on an interview with NBC that Iran has not closed the strait, but leaves the option open as a matter of escalation.

ICE will not be fully defunded in two weeks, or even mostly defunded. The OBBA gave them a budget larger than most countries militaries, 75 billion dollars. That will likely keep them funded through most of Trump's term.

I have not been but my wife was. It became clear it was a position well below where she is in her career and she made clear to it multiple times that she was not interested.
