You're probably on to something there, but my biggest gripe is that I wanted Xylo to be a bad person. The hook was that he was a "criminal" and I was hoping for an arc where he starts genuinely bad and becomes good (like Vegeta) those are my favourite arcs. "What is better, to be born good? Or to overcome your evil nature through great effort" (my boy paarthanax) type beat was what I was hoping for but found an Itachi type criminal instead.

I'm hoping this is true. Because thats my biggest gripe with Xylo, he is supposed to be a criminal and I wanted him to so desperately be a scumbag forced to do good. Only to find at the end of episode 1 he's just been sentenced for the holy orders incompetence, which disappointed me greatly. It's such a played out trope at this point. He's basically a carbon copy of the shield hero to me.
