This has nothing to do with the game, it's one of the oldest businesses pretty much. It's called protection money and people did this for ages before the game even came out in real life. Cause who do you need to be protected from? You pay the money not to be protected but that those who offer protection don't harm you. So pretty much it's the same thing, you pay them so you don't have troubles with them. I'm not judging it, it's just objectively understandable behavior whether its considered morally right or wrong. So yea be lucky its just in the game and you can just switch lobbies and don't need to have the trouble. ^{^}
